Park is great and the golfing is pretty cheap.

Only issue would be that the toilets are a decent distance from the cafe/shop area.

The park is looking a lot better after it's upgrade and has plenty for children to do. It's a lovely place to come on a sunny day.

Having recently returned to Dumfries after a couple of years away I am rediscovering places that too often we take for granted. Now being a dog owner I am always happy to find places to take him for a walk, away from traffic.

Dock Park is perfect for this. It has been dramatically improved over recent years and on a good day the park is busy with families at the play park near the main entrance at St Michael's Bridge. There are facilities for putting, crazy golf, bowls and trampolines.

If you walk along the riverside path you can exit the park onto Kingholm Road past the new suspension bridge towards the sports pavillion. Then take the riverside cyclepath to Kingholm Quay.

If you time your return back to Dock Park you can have a drink, snack or ice cream at the cafe which is open from 2pm to 5pm during the week and 10.30am to 4.30pm at the weekend.

A long stretch of Park at the side of the River Nith in Dumfries. It is kept in excellent condition and there are lots of information boards as you stroll along telling you about the area in days gone by. There is a Cafe, a children's play area, bowling green, bandstand and crazy golf and lots of flat grassy areas. It is a credit to the city of Dumfries.

Great park next to a lovely river - free parking - dog friendly and a nice play area for the little ones

Also has green bowling - mini golf and trampolines for a small cost and a nice little cafe with plenty of benches
