Our group got a friendly welcome from the pro in the shop on arrival. The shop is a bit sparse but that is understandable with all online competition today. The course was a delight to play with a lot of challenging holes and interesting pin positions. After the round we entered the clubhouse where the staff were welcoming but the members in there did not like strangers, it was like an old movie where everything went quiet and everybody stares at you, you get the feeling that they think they are something special.

Alloa golf course is situated on the northern outskirts of Alloa in Sauchie. It is a small club but exceptionally well run. The clubhouse is clean tidy and modern. The locker rooms have just been upgraded and are looking really good. Toilet and shower areas are modern and clean. The course itself is a parkland course. It is well tended and presents a good challenge. It is obvious that the course has had a lot of work done on it and its greens staff and greens committee should be very proud of what they have achieved. Greens are excellent and run true. Great course for a game of golf. 19th hole is well worth a visit. Catering is available in the bar area and restaurant

Our home course was closed due to the significant rainfall, and living close by to this club, we checked it was open and booked a round.

What a gem this place is. Some tricky holes and well placed pins set you up for a challenge from 1 to 18.

A little wet underfoot, but that aside, the fairways and greens were in pretty good condition and the course had stood up well to the winter. Testament to the green keepers.

Great views of the Ochils and Stirling in the distance. We both thoroughly enjoyed the course and despite being members elsewhere, we'll be back.

I would recommend this course if you're exploring central Scotland.
