“A perfect retreat”

This was an absolutely perfect weekend for our singing group. The house is fantastic, so well appointed and really had everything we needed. The beds were all super comfortable, the bathrooms were sparklingly clean and lovely, plenty of hot water for us all as well (there were 9 women so we use lots!) The kitchen had everything we needed and we just had a great time.

It was particularly lovely to have the fire laid in the little sitting room. I'm guessing the house hadn't been stayed in for a while as it did take a while for the conservatory to heat up - the wood burning stove was lovely but it just is a big cold room to heat. If you come in January take plenty of warm clothes and your slippers. We had planned all the meals and didn't plan a barbecue but then we wished we had - that hut looked just the cosiest ever. Next year we will come back and bring some steaks!

The isolated location was perfect too as we were doing lots of singing, and being able to unwind in the hot tub was such a treat, despite the rain and cold (it was January!) we were completely toasty in there.

Would completely recommend this property to anyone, fantastic value and really luxurious, and we will definitely be coming back next year. The one piece of advice I would give if you are cooking is bring a sharp knife, the knives were pretty blunt although completely understandable given the nature of the property!

“Fabulous Holiday Retreat”
Reviewed 25 November 2015 for a stay in November 2015

My family (9 adults and one dog) enjoyed a long weekend break (Friday to Monday) to celebrate my 50th birthday. We enjoyed a formal meal in the dining room. All cooked in the kitchen which was very well appointed and clean and tidy. On the Saturday evening we entertained guests for a buffet supper and most people congregated in the spacious conservatory with the cosy wood burning stove. Sunday afternoon we had a winter BBQ in the purpose built hut. We were joined by the grandchildren who had great fun playing in the enclosed garden. The festivities were concluded with a Murder Mystery evening on the Sunday night. The hot tub proved a big hit - we climbed in at night in temperatures below minus 5 and the tub was toasty and warm. A fantastic house in a fabulous location - I would have no hesitation in recommending it to friends.

“Perfect for a family gathering”
Reviewed 29 October 2015 for a stay in October 2015

Our group (aged from 12 months to 70 years) had a wonderful week's stay in this beautiful, comfortable house just outside Hawick. The house is spotlessly clean, well maintained and very well equipped. The beds are exceptionally comfortable! Like many other reviewers we spent most evenings in the large conservatory / garden room relaxing in front of the wood burning stove. The hot tub in the garden was also a huge hit with us all! We could easily have stayed for another week in this lovely, peaceful location and would love to visit again one day.

“Lovely stay in a wonderful property”
Reviewed 27 October 2015 for a stay in October 2014

Stayed in Branxholme Knowe for a week at the beginning of October, and we all had a wonderful stay. The property itself is a lovely old house full of character in an idyllic setting. There is a beautiful garden room with an open fire, perfect for lounging around in the evenings. The outdoor hot tub and barbecue hut were great fun. Would highly recommend
