“Easter break”

Stayed in caravan #4 with my wife, daughter(10) and dog (14) for a week from the 4th April-11th April. The caravan itself was clean and comfortable and positioned within spitting distance of the waters edge. So the views were outstanding. Weather for the week was perfect . Mike and family who run the site couldn't have been more helpful. We bought fresh free range eggs from the "site" as well as burgers, sausages etc all available from the "bothy" and leaving the monies in the honesty box. Mike also arranged to get fresh seafood for us from local fisherman . (Live langoustines and a lobster) which were fantastic. He even provided a pan big enough to cook the lobster. We all enjoyed our week and loved getting the short ferry to the mainland when we went sight seeing etc.

First stay on Luing and first holiday with our dog. Lovely place and Mike and Jen friendly and available if you needed them. View from caravan 6 was amazing even though the weather was not at it's best during our stay. Ferry crossing takes two minutes! The site is well kept and everyone has their own little patch. Lovely tranquil place to come back to if you do visit other places in the area. Would love to come again earlier in the year.

“Location, Location, Location!”

I stumbled on Sunnybrae in an internet search looking for a holiday by the sea in Scotland..... what a find!
Sunnybrae provides well equipped, thoughtfully placed caravans each having an uninterrupted view. Caravan 6 was just perfect for us, we chilled, we walked, we cycled. From the caravan window we saw seals, otters, porpoise and dolphins plus a variety of sea traffic. We had intended visiting other hebridean islands but once we got to Luing we didn't want to leave! The weather was very kind and let us see it at its very best. Seil too is a lovely little island.
We ate twice in the Oyster Bar on Seil which was very nice and reasonably priced. Both Luing and Seil have well stocked shops and of course the bothy provides a range of frozen meat and locally caught shell fish.
This was a very different type of holiday for us but one of our most enjoyable. It was our first visit to Luing but certainly wont be our last.

This place is just amazing! Can't really say much more positives than those that have already been said! The location is perfect, so peaceful with amazing views from the caravan and all aroung the island. Lots to see and do if you want to, or sitting there chilling is equally as satisfying! Friendly people, great hosts, you know where they are if you need them but not intrusive, spotless caravan, well equipped bothie with generousity box (don't get them in many places) very well organised. Hire bikes from the site for £10 a day - awesome! And the greatest wee island to cycle round. Also cycling on Seil to the two pubs was fantastic. We had great weather but I think this could also have been good in the rain. Great spot. Not really enjoying typing this though because I don't really want to spread the word incase it gets even more popular and too busy to book a return trip! But thought I should since it was so fab! Thanks very much once again!

“Second visit, can't wait for third!”
Reviewed 19 September 2014 for a stay in September 2014

We have stayed at Sunnybrae twice now, and we can't recommend it highly enough. The Isle is accessed by a short ferry crossing on the Belnahua, with regular crossings throughout the day and a smaller passenger ferry in the evenings. Once on Luing, Sunnybrae is only a 2 minute walk so we recommend leaving your car on the mainland.
We have always had a warm welcome fron Mike & Jenn, the caravans are well equipped and comfortable, and the Bothy holds a great selection of dvds, local food, crabbing lines, local info etc, as well as a newly installed washing machine & dryer.
The views from the park across the Cuan Sound are stunning, we spent hours just looking out spotting the seals, otters, bird life and were treated to a spectacular display from a pod of dolphins lasting several hours. Even our 4 active kids were never bored.
There is so much to do locally, especially in and around Oban, which is a friendly medium sized town around 35 minutes drive, and a great accees point to the Inner Hebrides via the regular CalMac ferry services.
Taking a decent pair of walking shoes is highly recommended, and opens up a whole new world of possibilities, there are so many walks to do in the area.
We have booked up for next year and the next 12 months can't go quick enough, seriously considering buying a house as we have fallen in love with the area.
