What a wonderful little cottage this is. Three bedrooms, enough to sleep 5 people, One of the rooms in ensure. It is decorated to a very high standard throughout and has all the amenities you would ever need. Situated by the gate leading to the Blessingbourne estate main house, you may have a bit of difficulty of finding it at first. However once we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by Coleen Lowry the owner of the estate who couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. She even invited us to a private barbecue that she was holding that evening, and when we declined, she sent 2 more people down to invite us! She urged us to walk around the grounds, insisting we have a look at the private gardens in the front of the house. So lovely! There are plenty of walking and bike trails around the grounds, the woods, the lake. You can even do your laundry in the laundry room by the stables.
Upon our departure, Coleen rode down on her horse (!) to say goodbye and offer us further information about our upcoming destination. So lovely.
This 5-star, self-catering little cottage is just that - it is of very high standard throughout and immediately immerses you in a peaceful and relaxing charm when you arrive until you leave. Set at the entrance to a very grand estate surrounded by mature woodlands you just want to explore, with the relaxation mode kicking in immediately. The estate and gate lodge owners are super and very welcoming, giving advice on what to do, what see and where to go - they could not be more friendly - really nice touch.
The estate has a fantastic off-road mountain biking circuit for the amateur up to the professional - as novices we tried this and quickly became enthusiasts. Other facilities such as boating on the lake are also well worth giving a go.
As a pet-friendly accommodation our cocker spaniel thought he had entered dog heaven - he looked very sad when leaving (as did we!).
In summary then, if you are looking for relaxation with luxury set in beautiful surroundings then this is it - go for it!
