We stopped here after visiting St. Patrick's grave and were very lucky to find the gates open at 6 p.m. So glad we were able to see it and we wandered around the ruins by ourselves. There are signs to narrate what you are seeing and we found that information helpful. Did not realize this was the site of a GOT shooting until read one of the other reviews and also found that interesting.

Situated near the banks of the river Quoile with views of Down Cathedral in the background these old historic ruins have a special aura of calm.

Lovely little spot whether you arrive by car or take the train from Downpatrick as we did.
Beautiful remains which are extremely well maintained. Take a picnic and enjoy an hour or two to unwind.

We visited as it was on our journey, nice 20 minute stop and also one of the game of thrones locations which is why we stopped,
Not much here but still nice place to spend a short time.
