We stayed in the property for a long weekend at the end of August for the last break for us all before school madness starts up again and we were not disappointed.
The location is great - right beside Castlewellan Forest Park (literally if you hop the wall you are in it - not that I'd recommend that) and the views from the living room are spectacular.
The house itself is of a high standard inside with absolutely everything you would need for self catering. Kitchen was well provisioned with cutlery and cooking equipment, beds were comfy and the living area was more than adequate for the 4 of us. Also the wifi was a decent speed (important for the kids!!).
We loved it as a house and location - breakfasting outside looking down to the sea was great and on the last night we lit up the firepit and toasted marshmallows, which the kids thought was great.
We tend to go on 2-3 weekend breaks a year to self catering cottages but rarely return to the same one twice, as we enjoy changing it up a bit - however I have a sneaking suspicion that we will find ourselves back here.
Overall wouldnt hesitate in recommending a stay here.

Great location for bike riders, dog walkers with breath-taking scenery on your doorstep, for equestrian lovers there are good facilities right next door.
30 Minutes to Belfast or 15 to Newcastle.
The lodge was very comfortable with everything you could ever need.
A very well appointed cosy & comfortable log cabin with stunning view down to Dundrum Bay.Owner looked after U.S. Well. WE definitely will return again.
