A most charming little cottage just 4 miles from ballycastle. We stayed here for a week with our 11month old daughter, Our host April has everything catered for here even down to supplying a changing mat. The place is spotless inside and the attention to detail is second to none. We have stayed in a number of other similar cottages in the past but this one wins hands down. Fresh bread on arrival and the fire lit , can't be faulted
Very warm welcome from April on arrival, excellent accommodation and location despite the snow when we arrived. Highly recommend this cottage and would quite happily stay again in the future.
My wife and I stayed in The Bothy with our 2 boys (aged 4 & 2) as a treat to ourselves after Christmas was ruined due to illness. The weekend stay at the Bothy easily helped us all get over the Christmas blues and we had one of the best , most relaxing, enjoyable weekends we can remember. The boys were entertained with the games, dvds and books which where available and we had access to wifi for their tablets. The lit log fire and the scones and wheaten on arrival set the tone for the weekend. The cottage is warm, clean, and cosy with everything done to a very high spec. The beds are the most comfortable I have EVER slept in and my 2 yr old son agrees as he slept all night both nights(something he neglects to do at home)! There is a very special feeling in this cottage and I can only advise anyone looking for somewhere to stay in this area to book it quick, you will have no regrets.
We have recommended this cottage to all our friends and family and will definitely be back again soon.
We have stayed at the Bothy in May,and my review is the same as before,
everything you need ,a friendly welcome with tea scones, cream and jam.
The log fire lite, everything you need for a cold day.The cottage is spotless
and has everything you need for modern day comforts.I would recommend
Just a few words about our stay at the Bothy. We met April our host as we arrived at the self catering cottage for our weekend getaway. April was very polite and showed us around the accommodation to help familiarize us with the facilities. On arrival, April had set out for us a lovely creamed tea, consisting of, tea, scones, jam, butter and cream. The most amazing wheaten bread and homemade marmalade was also waiting for us in the kitchen. First impressions of the Bothy from the outside was its traditional old world charm. A whitewashed cottage which at one time would have been a very familiar site throughout this part of county Antrim. Inside, it was clean, tidy and very homely. The cottage is set well off the main road so it was quiet and peaceful throughout our stay. In the main living room there was a wood burning stove which had plenty of wood and turf for us to use. It was nice to be able to sit there in the evening and snuggle up by the fire. The kitchen facilities were more than sufficient, and we were able to cook our meals without hassle. We had hot water on tap and the shower was a powerful overhead type, which was especially useful after our long walks along the north Antrim coast. All in all, we could not have asked for a more charming place to rest our weary heads for a couple of nights. We had a lovely time at the Bothy and look forward to our return with great anticipation.
Thank you April,
Robert and Lee x
