Very comfortable hotel on the University side of Belfast - a little quieter than central hotels but plenty of nearby cafes/restaurants.
Big advantage is the large ( and free) car park - never any problem getting a space.
The room was warm and comfortable. Good bed and pillows. No bath - but large reasonably powerful shower. Hairdryer/tea/coffee/iron - but no safe.
The decor is rather dated - too much brown including dark brown furniture.
The only other real negative was the overuse of floral disinfectant in the lobby - which combined with the brown sofas gave a rather institutional feel.
Friendly staff Didn't bother with adding breakfast -as nice cafes down by University ( such as Conor) were just a pleasant walk away.

Room was so dated. The cream carpet on the floor needed cleaned. We couldn't open our bedroom window because there were pipes etc outside which I'm assuming was the hotel's heating system, which hummed all night. We had to wait in the foyer this morning for fifteen minutes for a table in the dining room before we could have breakfast. My husband asked if he could have a cup of coffee while we waited, it didn't arrive, so he had to go and ask again.
We then waited outside the hotel for a taxi. There were cigarette butts from the night before laying everywhere at the front door and dried in drink on the tiles at twelve noon!!! We certainly will not be returning. Overall very disappointing.

Spent one night at the Malone Lodge Hotel, evening meal and b&b deal. It was a lovely place, warm welcome and located a short walk from Lisburn Road shopping one direction and Queens University and Botanic Gardens, bars and restaurants etc. the other direction. We were upgraded to the Honeymoon Suite, with chocolate strawberries and a lovely note from the hotel to wish us a happy anniversary. It's these personal touches that make a great experience into a wonderful one! The food was lovely too, especially the breakfast which was freshly cooked and fantastic! We were very impressed and would recommend it highly to others. The staff overall are warm, friendly and super helpful. There are a couple of things that could be improved upon, one is the condition of the mattress in the room which was quite uncomfortable and stained. The other is the welcome at Breakfast which compared to the evening before was disappointing, no smiles or "good mornings". Otherwise, the hotel is clean, comfortable and friendly. Highly recommended

Dear Mags_Louis

Thank you for taking the time to review Malone Lodge following your recent stay with us. I am so pleased that you enjoyed your anniversary with us and that we were able to help you to celebrate in our own small way.
Thank you for your kind comments on our food offering and our team - though I do apologise that you felt the welcome at breakfast was lacking - I can assure you this is not the norm for us and we generally receive excellent feedback on our breakfast team, so I was disappointed to see that this was not your experience.
I hope that we can look forward to welcoming you back to Malone Lodge again in the near future

Excellent and quick check in service. We had booked on line and booked an Executive Room for two nights. As we arrived around 7pm we queried the restaurant times and reception kindly offered to book us in. On arrival to our room the phone was ringing as we entered and it was reception to confirm our table had been booked.
The room was very spacious and on the 3rd floor and exceptionally clean. The carpet looked new as did the bathroom suite and tiles as everything was spotless and polished and the tile grout was still white as if it was newly fitted. However, on closer inspection, the sealant around the bottom of the shower enclosure did have black mould spots which did let an otherwise perfect bathroom down as would be easy to fix albeit would render the room unusable for 24 hours to give the sealant time to dry. There was no bath which was perfect for us as we only like showers.
We ate in the restaurant which was again very modern and clean. There is a large hatch into the kitchen so you can see the chefs cooking. The kitchen all seemed to run smoothly like clockwork and was a pleasure to watch with no stress or shouting from the chefs. The presentation of the food was excellent as was the taste.
Our room was far away from the lifts and stairs so we were not disturbed by people walking past as on another review, although there was an adjoining door to another room, obviously locked, but there was an inch gap under the door so the light from the adjoining room shone through and also meant that sounds from this room were not blocked as much as if there had been a wall between.
The purpose of our visit was to attend a family funeral and both nights went to bed relatively early around 10pm as it had been a long day but unfortunately, both nights were woken by the sounds of the couple having sex in the adjoining room. The first night at 11:30 and the second night at 12:15. They then continued to talk until around 1am. A single wooden door with an inch gap underneath doesn’t make for great sound proofing and they may as well have been in the room with us.
In addition, the main door into the room had a two inch gap underneath which did let a lot of light in from the brightly lit hall during the night so we used the floor towel from the bathroom rolled up to block the light. Maybe the hotel could provide a draft excluder to remedy this?
The bed seemed extremely hard and absolutely no bounce when you sat on it which made for an uncomfortable night for me but I realise that Mattress softness is a personal thing so a hard mattress may suit some. The pillows and duvet were perfect and again the sheets were spotless and whiter than white.
On the second morning, we had to catch our flight so was up early and down to breakfast in time for 7am when the restaurant apparently opened but had to sit and wait until 7:10 before we got in which wasn’t great but they were quick to serve us our hot breakfast although there were cereals, toast, fruit, yoghurts and pastries to hand and also offered to pack up our breakfast if we needed to leave quickly. Tony the waiter with a Liverpool accent was very happy and friendly and made sure nothing was too much trouble with was nice.
Overall a lovely hotel and I would revisit but next time I’d ask for a room without an adjoining door.

Room Tip: Exectutive room was great but ask for a room that doesn't have an adjoining door.

Dear moneypenney

Thank you for taking the time to review Malone Lodge following your recent stay with us, and indeed for your detailed feedback. I am so pleased to see that you enjoyed your stay with us overall, though I would like to offer my sincerest apologies for any disturbance you experienced due to noise from the adjoining room. Had we been made aware of this issue during your stay we certainly could have offered you a room move, but we have added a note to your profile to say that you prefer not to be allocated an adjoining room, so I can assure you this will not be an issue should you return to us in the future.
Thank you for your kind comments on our team - I will be sure to share them with our team members.
I hope that we can look forward to welcoming you back to Malone Lodge again in the near future.

We availed of a very good offer of B&B, evening meal, and tickets for the Titanic experience, £139 for two people. It was great value. The staff in Malone Lodge Hotel are very helpful and friendly. The menu and and quality of the meals were excellent. The double room was very comfortable. This was a very nice experience. When travelling to Belfast again we will definitely stay here. JB
