Awful food and so expensive, 3 of us had the curry, well, it was powdered curry mixed with hot water we were so disappointed, no veg in the sauce, poor quality tiny frozen prawns, was all sauce, chips were nice but that's about it....we didn't stay for dessert saw some portions come out to other tables and the portion was tiny. The place itself was a bit tired and run down, couldn't be bothered to complain we'll just never go again. Expensive disappointment. How they can call their menu dishes "homemade" beats me. Only restaurant around that area they really need to up their game....

sat night thought we would pop out for something to eat. We have been to the Gradon quite a few times always had good pub grub good value .... we were given menus and noticed the prices had jumped up since last visit 1yr ago. BBQ chicken i have everywhere was £12.99. ok normaly about £8.99 so thought it would be good. Had Camembert backed with onion relish. It came like onion thick soup with Camembert in it. Awful to be honest. I was asked by owner if our food was ok and i asked for more BBQ sauce for my main course. i thought i would say at end of meal about starter. the staff were polite and the owner came and asked why didn't i say earlier about starter for her to do something about it i said i didn't want another she didn't ask about rest of meal. The chips were great the garlic bread was ok although brown baguette but my main course chicken was a flat piece of chicken with very weak BBQ source very poor really. My husband vegetarian had stuffed peepers and thought they were not very good. the dish ended up swimming in sauce and cheese so left majority of meal. i thought we would be aked about meal when paying .... our desert apple pie was fine. overall would not go back £45 with starter taken off and included 1 coke and 1 beer was expensive for such poor food.// the restaurant is fabulous and the beer garden looks lovely but don't eat there. We have been looking for a venue for large party but sadly this and the Whittington Arms will not be suitable

Excellent food in a lovely pub. They provided gluten free bread with staters & gluten free gravy with the meal. Really good selection of veg. Will definitely return. Good value for money.

From the most friendliest welcome to the freshly home cooked food we cpuld not fault the Gradon, the only downside for me was that it was very quiet which means people are missing out on this gem!!!
Kids meals were very good quality with large potions. Lunchtime meal deal is excellent value with a range of choices. Kids meals we had nuggets (proper chicken, not processed rubbish!!). We had starters and pie and gammon. The food was served promptly and was hot and clearly freshly cooked.
A lovely atmosphere and good prices. I literally can't sing the praises of the Gradon enough. We're already planning to come back.

On line menu cheaper than the actual menu. (Early bird).told evening menu not available untill 8 pm. Blackboard on wall said 6 pm. No option on early bird of one course ,so pay for 2 course even if not wanted. Food poor quality.never again. However the young lady waitresses did their best ,while management left them to it.

Thank stephen o
