We came here for Sunday lunch last week and were really impressed. I had Glamorgan sausages which was the best vegetarian option for a Sunday dinner I have ever had. Food was brought out really quickly, staff were great and the pub itself was really nice. I think we were really lucky to have walked in and get a table so I would recommend booking. We will definitely be coming back here!

Visited last Thursday Evening for a meal for my father's 70th and we were not disappointed. The restaurant is spotlessly clean and a very pleasant place to be and the service all evening was second to none.

I had the Welsh Beef Lasagne which was stunning. The old man's steak and ale pie looked fantastic too and the portions were also generous. Not to expensive either we thought.

Will definitely visit again and would recommend the Gwaelod to anyone. A very pleasant experience indeed.

Our search for the best Sunday lunch goes on, but this old inn, just outside Cardiff , will take some beating. We were a party of 4. We had three roast lamb, with all the trimmings and one vegetarian Glamorgan sausages, also with all the usual roast trimmings, including veggie gravy. It was pints of real ale and 2 glasses of house wine.
We finished off with sherry trifle and cheesecake and two coffees. The total bill was a shade under. £90, which reflects the standard of food and service. You’ll need to book and be aware of limited parking space.

Was staying in the area in June and was overwhelmed by the inn. The staff are so helpful and friendly. Even putting Holsten Pils in the cool cabinet for me. The food is excellent and it was an excellent place to unwind after visiting Cardiff for the day. The staff even set up a table for a group of us to eat as the rest of the tables were booked. Brilliant and cannot thank them enough for their service.

The staff are really friendly and attentive. There s a relaxed atmosphere and it is bliss not having music played so you can concentrate on conversation. The food is attractively presented and quantities and quality good.Been here a few times and one time they made up a starter into a main course for me. There are great ales.Parking is up a hill at the rear of the establishment.
