Well we went to Wales and found out by chance visiting Caerphilly Castle - Tommy Cooper was a Welshman! How anyone can say it is terrible should probably have gone to Disneyland instead. The statue stands in a very prominent position in the Town of Caerphilly opposite the Castle. It is not the same as say Nelsons Column but it is what it is, a tribute to a man of his time.

Tommy got a great spot indeed for his statue. When you visit the castle it is easy to take a picture with Tommy too.

Tommy Cooper was a comic Legend born in Caerphilly.
The statue lies in the recently refurbished center overlooking the magnificent Caerphilly Castle reputed to be the largest medievil castle in Great Britain.
He is posed with his familiar fez hat.
Tommy was also a Welsh Guard and one of the few naturally funny people you would wish to see.

Thank Stephen H

You can't miss the statue of Tommy Cooper. It's near the information centre and fittingly it is a big statue to a big talented man. although born in Caerphilly, I understand his parents were English and didn't spend long there. But, it doesn't matter!! Its fitting that this great funny man should be commemorated.
