We spent a long weekend at Red Cow House with the dog. Lovely cottage with everything that you need. Garden is delightful, made extra special by the river running through it. The owner has been fantastic, very helpful throughout, and we had a lovely surprise waiting for us when we arrived. Busy Road but lovely cottage nevertheless

We came for a weeks stay with the dogs, the cottoge was lovely with everything you will need including plenty of wood for the log burner. We had some treats waiting for us on arrival which was a lovely surprise. Unfortunately we had a little more rain than we'd hoped for but that didnt stop us from enjoying the holiday. There are so many fantastic walks in the area, you're spoilt for choice. We also went caving abd rock climbing which made no difference if it was raining or not, it was a fab day out! Linda, the lady who rents the cottage couldn't be more welcoming. I highly recommend staying here.

“An idyllic cottage in the beautiful Brecon Beacons”

Red Cow House is a beautiful cottage full of character near the town of Trecastle and also Brecon. Located in a secluded area, but on a road it's right next to a beautiful gushing stream backed by woodland, which is home to all sorts of birds and wild flowers. It really was just so lovely to sit outside in the sun and have a glass of wine with the sound of nature all around. The house is immaculate, the host was perfect and left us instructions and a few treats which was lovely. Not too far from the village that you feel too secluded, but far enough away for serious relaxation. I recommend driving to Glasbury which is half an hour away and renting a canoe or kayak down to Hay on Wye, it's fabulous.

Booked last minute as a place to stay with a group of friends and we all completely fell in love with this place! Log burner in lounge and river going through the garden were the highlights - perfect bird watching spot (spotted gold crest and tree creepers). Didn't notice we were right next to an A road.

Hoping to come back in summer as 2 nights was not long enough.

“Excellent dog friendly cottage, great base to explore!”

Red Cow House is a fantastic place to stay, either to explore the local areas or just to relax in the wonderful garden. We took our dog Rosie who was 5 months old and she absolutely loved the enclosed garden with her own river! Linda the owner was fantastic from start to finish and even left us and Rosie some wonderful treats!

The information leaflets in the cottage were great and helped us decide on where to go each day. In the evenings we lit the fire pit and relaxed on the patio -ideal!

Definitely worth a visit!!

Liked best: The cottage overall - just as a cottage should be!
Liked least: No TV channels, but this is what we expected so not a complaint.
