We stayed here recently for a single night while visiting Abergavenny for the first time and using the hotel as a base for the Brecon beacons.

We'd started with the sister hotel ("The Angel") but this was full and the Abergavenny was suggested to us as an alternate and we took it.

It turned out really well - the hotel is just at the end of town making it a really quick & easy walk back in and we met Jackie on reception who was really friendly and we were shown to our room.

The room here was fairly simple but it was spacious, had everything we needed and it was spotless (as are the public areas etc). We had a good night's sleep and checked out the next morning having had a good stay.

One thing I'd flag - we chose to eat up the road at the Angel both for dinner and breakfast which is an option so I can't comment on the breakfast at the Abergavenny other than to say that from what I saw of it when checking out it looked great & next time around I'd just eat breakfast here rather than walking up the road.

The hotel was a immediately off the road with a small car park, luckily we got a space. The foyer, bar area is beautifully decorated and the staff are really nice and helpful. The nice decor continues into the rooms. We bathroom was a good size too. The bed was very comfortable and generally We were Lucky to have a decent size room. The only drawback was that there was no AC and we've had very warm weather. They do provide a fan which helped a little. We would both definitely come back again.

Stayed here for three nights as the Angel was fully booked.

Car park is a little small. However everything else makes up for that. Stayed in room 21 with living room, kitchen area with sink, coffee machine, kettle an sink. Tea, coffee milk an biscuits included. Pleasant bar staff. No restaurant but great location plenty of restaurants in walking distance. Breakfast is continental style with coffee, juice, breads an muffins to toast with cream cheese, salmon, ham etc. Boiled egg machine, croissants, cereal, yogurts fruits etc.

Well done I will definitely be back

Recently my Modernised to a high standard but we were very underwhelmed with our room, particularly at the price we paid. The room was very small and there was virtually nowhere to hang our clothes. There is no kitchen in the hotel so only continental breakfast was available despite the premium price. However the continental breakfast did give plenty of options. Abergavenny has limited hotel space which seems to have given all hoteliers in the town to take advantage of visitors. We did not believe we received value for money and our room was worth only £80 at best.

From a positive standpoint the hotel is very new and fresh. The standard of decor is good, the location is perfect for exploring the town and the staff were very nice.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for taking the time to post your review.

It is a shame to read you were disappointed with your stay. We offer our classic rooms which are the smallest and our studio rooms are the largest rooms.

Abergavenny has over 12 hotels within the town inclusive of 2 miles outside of town. Premier Inn amongst these hotels; perhaps a bit more research would have been better for you in advance.

I am pleased you found the hotel fresh, with good decor and plenty of options on the continental breakfast.

Best wishes,

Charlotte Griffiths

Very comfortable, well maintained place. Couldn’t have asked for more after a long day travelling. Stylish, welcoming public areas, wonderfully obliging and pleasant staff, excellent breakfast. Convenient to everything. Some parking on site, staff do their best to accomodate this.
