This restaurant is a lovely room with a nice atmosphere and history.even though it must be an extension to the original building which was a 16th century coaching inn it certainly flows. The food is excellent as is the service. Well worth a visit

Cannot comment on food this time as we did not get any. Even though there was no one in the dining room when we arrived, was told that there would be a wait of 15 to 20 minutes for food. We were requested to wait in the bar area. After 25 minutes we moved ourselves into the dining room where 3 tables were now occupied, two without food. One of the other tables we had seen arrive a few minutes after ourselves, and they had not ordered yet either. We waited another 10 minutes, without anyone coming into the dining room to take orders, so we decided to leave and find another place to eat.

Very disappointed. Have eaten here before, and was pleased. Don't know what has happened to the service. This will put us off visiting in the future.

No judgement on the food, since I had no food. The staff told to wait for 30 minutes before I could order. After one hour the kitchen was closed without informing me. The reason given: to bussy and they had expected I already left.
Don't blame the customer of what I should have done, while you mentioned the opposite upfront.

A disappointed customer.

Stumbled on this place after touring in our mobile home. The quirky building and atmosphere drew us to you. Once inside, the aesthetics of the building made as gasp! Beautiful! We had a drink which was very pleasant, then decided to eat and were thankful for the short notice booking. Kate made this experience very worthwhile. It is clear you employ people who are intelligent, but also those who are attentive to our needs. She made conversation rather than just ask what we wanted. You have a gem there and that experience made me want to join trip advisor and leave this comment. The food was amazing, but the interface between kitchen and table makes the difference. Thank you

First time eating here. Excellent menu, quality cuisine, ready to accommodate variations and dietary needs. Friendly helpful staff. Desserts are divine. Will definitely make a return visit.
