Owner description: Malvern Theatres is proud of its standing as a leading centre of artistic excellence in the West Midlands. Since opening as the Malvern Assembly Rooms in 1885, it has undergone many changes and is now home to two theatres and a cinema, boasting an impressive range of critically acclaimed theatrical and cinematic productions. The 850 seat Festival and Forum theatres regularly host world class touring plays, musicals, operas and ballets and have become a hotspot for pre and post West End productions. The Forum, along with the recently refurbished 300 seat cinema, comes equipped with the latest cinematic technology to enable live screenings of productions around the world. The theatres are run by the Malvern Theatres Trust, a registered charity, dedicated to ensuring the success of the theatres and maintaining the building for future generations to enjoy. By choosing to visit, you are helping to ensure that this much loved theatre remains part of the community for many years to come.

A great show, slightly disappointed the songs were not the same as the film. The Festival theatre has small seats. The man next to me spilled out into my space, it wasn't pleasant. Expensive drinks & food. Terrible parking. However the cast were fabulous and put on a great show.

Thank Sarah J

Dear Sarah J,
Thank you for sharing your thoughts regarding the theatre and Sister Act.
You will be pleased to read that we recently replaced all 850 seats in the Festival Theatre after a hugely successful fundraising campaign. We've received very positive feedback so far, so I hope you will enjoy a more pleasant and comfortable experience on your next visit.
Parking is always a little difficult as unfortunately, due to the age of the building and our location in the town, we don't have any on site. Parking bays on Graham Road, further along from the theatre, fill up very fast but there are usually plenty spaces at the Splash Leisure Center which is just a couple of minutes walk from us through Priory Park.
Thanks again for your review. We look forward to seeing you again soon.
Best wishes,
Michael Wilson

We consider ourselves very fortunate to have a vast array of facilities in the venue to support an exciting and diverse programme of events. Our new season brochure is now available detailing all productions up until September.

A great little theatre easy to get to and park. Warm and comfortable with the bar. No one in the bistro which was a surprise. Well worth considering attending

This is a very late review, as we went with our little granddaughter back in December, but we all had a great time, as pantomimes are meant to provide. Great facilities inside the theatre though I think the chairs may need a bit of an upgrade. We will visit again.

Dear Mark C,
Many thanks for taking the time to review your visit.
You will be pleased to read that we replaced all 850 seats in the Festival Theatre back in January. The auditorium is now ready to take on many more years of outstanding theatrical productions!
We hope you will join us again for this year's panto, Snow White, where Su Pollard will be starring as the Wicked Queen.
Best wishes,
Michael Wilson

I was also extremely disappointed that the theatre disregarded advice re travelling in snow last Friday to the Banff Festival. As public transport had been cancelled and the public had been advised not to travel I consider the theatre was irresponsible re going ahead with the programme and refusing to reimburse those of us who found it impossible to travel there - even if this was not in full. The theatre relies on an audience drawn from beyond Malvern so I find lack of consideration in this case implies they do not value those who are prepared to travel and support this theatre.
I notice the theatre has not responded to the previous review regarding this issue!

Thank Debbie C

Dear Debbie C,
Please forgive my delay in replying to this week's reviews. If you ever require an immediate response from our team, please contact us directly through our website or over the phone as it can sometimes take a little longer on TripAdvisor.
I'm sorry that you experienced problems getting to the theatre through the snow last week. As we were fully staffed and both visiting companies were able to present their productions on Friday evening, it was decided that all our programming would go ahead as planned. As there were no cancellations and the problem lay outside of our control, we had to revert to the terms and conditions of ticket sales which states credit notes and exchanges can only be processed with at least 48 hours notice.
As a receiving house, the shows staged here are produced by external companies. The final settlement the company receives is dependent on the advance sales value and as the performance was not cancelled and our contractual agreement was fulfilled, the company still expect payment.
Whilst different parts of the country had varying levels of disruption, we had to respond to our own set of circumstances. I fully appreciate that you may have encountered challenges getting to the theatre and can only apologise for the inconvenience you experienced.
Best wishes,
Michael Wilson
