Previous visits have been for teas and coffees only.
Recently called in for a light lunch. Limited choice of rather expensive snacks, staff not over friendly and generally a bit grubby.
Must do better!

During our first visit to the area, we ate most mornings in our hotel, but went out once to the Apple Barn as it seemed like a great local attraction. We luckily arrived around 9am on Sunday morning and were seated immediately. When we left at 10, there must have been around 50 guests waiting outside!

We ordered the biscuits and gravy, pancakes (2 orders) and the breakfast croissant. The biscuits and gravy and bacon were very good (you can get a non-sausage gravy), my daughter's croissant sandwich was great and the pancakes were also fantastic.

If you are wanting a BIG breakfast, this is it. The portions and the items that come with each platter are huge. In fact, we didn't want as much as they brought and were disappointed that we had so much food wasted.

It was a good experience and we enjoyed wandering the other buildings and doing a little shopping while we were there.

We are from TN, but this is just not a place we go, so for a first visit, we were glad we went to the Apple Barn. I don't know that we would go back....but go.

Simply awful. Don’t waste your time.
The food is overpriced for what they offer and the drinks are disgusting !!!!
Waited in line to be served for over 10 minuets only to be greeted by very rude staff. Won’t be coming back.

This was our second visit for lunch as we found the carvery to be good value considering the amount of meat on our plates although there was only two to choose from, Ham or Pork. There was a good choice of vegetables ,but not "Self Serve" as you would normally expect at a carvery. The staff were friendly and helpful and carried the tray to our table . We wondered why plate covers were provided to keep the dinners warm when it was such a short distance to the seats and tables.
We soon found out when we had to wait in a separate queue on the opposite side of the restaurant to get our drinks and pay the bill. Rather a strange set-up we thought,. as you don't realise this until you get to the end of the hot food counter. You then decide whether to have a cold dinner or a cold pot of tea.
As a couple we did manage ok, but it would be difficult for a pensioner by themselves.
Food excellent with average price for a carvery..

We've just moved to the area and decided to give the Apple Barn a try.
First couple of visits, just bacon sandwiches, which were very good.
We also tried the carvery, which for choice and value for money is very good.
Today however, we visited a little later in the morning for breakfast. The cooked food - bacon particularly - was suffering very badly from having been under the hot lights for too long. I'm not keen on "well done" bacon, but this looked like shoe leather. I appreciate they are catering to a large amount of customers but it really doesn't take long to cook bacon to order.
We left and went elsewhere, where we got a very nice freshly cooked bacon bagette.
It hasn't put us off, but we have our own rule - go early, or not at all.
