Perfect day out but wish we had longer. Good selection of rides and food stalls open and to top it off a trip to Father Christmas. The journey to see the main man was quite a long wait but when we got there he was absolutely brilliant. Been coming here for Christmas for years and every time is the start of the festive period

What an amazing experience, so much to see and do. You'd think that the weather would be a let down, however this wasn't the case. We were able to do virtually all the rides available and there were hardly any queues to speak of which I here is quite rare. You could quite easily spend all day just looking at the models and displays. The Star Wars display was for me simply amazing, however I also loves the Lego cities (London icons i.e. Buckingham Palace, St Paul's Cathedral, Big Ben etc)

Can't wait to come back and visit. Definitely recommended.

Just returned from Legoland Windsor on a Sunday in December. After parting with £100 as a family of 3 we ventured into the park for the first time excited as to what we would find.
Unfortunately whilst walking around we started to realise that we weren't getting access to as much of the park as we'd hoped!
There were many rides/kiosks closed off and whole sections of the park shut off from access. Ok I understand that people don't want to go on water-rides...but the model village? Why can you not allow guests to walk around all of the model village?

Things didn't get much better unfortunately when we queued up for Ninjago, after a 50 minute queue we went on only to discover the motion sensor missiles weren't working on half of the cart. We came off and asked the staff for another go but yet again my wife's motion sensor didn't work so after this we gave up.

Lunch at Pizza and Pasta for £15 a head was...ok...but just ok. The food at Peppa Pig World is much nicer.

We'd been allocated a 18:30pm slot to visit Santa and staying up this late with a 3 year old was going to be a challenge! We decided to collect our free hot drinks and cookies at Christmas Land...very disappointing. My wife's hot chocolate was absolutely disgusting and its another clever tactic to encourage you to spend more money. There is no free cookie for the child of course so you have to purchase something for them to keep them happy!

We trudged around in the dark trying to kill some time but slowly the rides and attractions started to close. What with the rain hammering down we attempted an early access to Santa as the staff at Christmas Land had previously told us we could come 30 minutes early...no joy here as they then turned us away at 18:00 so we dragged the very wet and upset 3 year old back to Elves Workshop. We killed sometime in this barely warm tent before finally being admitted in to see Santa.

The Santa visit was just a long walk through lots of Christmas trees and mud which covered are shoes...not pleasant! Then more queues before finally getting in to Santa's hut. Santa was good to be fair but after the 2 hours of killing time I wish I had just purchased the £8 box of Lego from the gift shop and gone home early.

Legoland in December...not worth it!

So, admittedly the day we went (Sat 15th Dec) the weather was rubbish. Rained pretty much all day which never makes for a fun day at a theme park. This is obviously out of Legoland’s control. However, it’s December, there’s a pretty high chance that it’s going to be cold, possibly very cold. We went prepared, we weren’t dressed for the arctic but we were dressed for a cold day in the UK. We were fine, albeit a bit damp, all day....up until we were made to queue for an hour, through a (albeit pretty), Christmas tree lined, very narrow, winding trail to see Santa. It wasn’t magical, it was downright miserable. The children were bored, they were wet, they were cold, they cried. I nearly cried as I felt so bad. Not fun at all! Legoland - what went wrong?? To top it off, when we finally got to the Christmas cafe at the end of the experience, the mulled wine had run out!!
But now for the positives - all the staff were cheery, the park was beautifully festive (ALOT of effort had been made), Santa was fab. Spent a lot of time with us (this may be the reason for the long queue!), made sure our photo was perfect and we were happy with it. Kids gifts were good. Lunch at the pizza-pasta buffet was great. Excellent value for money and decent quality. We barely queued at all when we arrived for lunch at 12.15. The extra Christmas activities were good. There were enough rides open to keep us going.
In summary - potentially a great day out and good value. Legoland need to sort out the Father Christmas experience in terms of waiting times.
My advice - choose a Santa time slot for the morning or straight after lunch. Check the weather and go prepared! Cold and wet children aren’t fun to be with.
