My wife and I stayed here during a recent business trip to Salisbury. The hotel is lovely, in a great location, with gardens that border the river. The decor is pleasant and the hotel well maintained. The staff are both helpful and friendly. The bar/restaurant is airy and bright with a good selection of food and drinks. The hotel is a short walk from the centre of Salisbury, taken through the grounds of the cathedral. We were in the John Tobin room, which is accessed from outside of the main hotel. The room is well decorated and the facilities are good (shower only) but for us, the downside was no windows, just a skylight. This made it feel a little claustrophobic and severely reduced the amount of fresh air flowing through the room. If you enjoy light and fresh air, I would avoid this room

Booked a two night stay in March and what a visit to this Hotel. In summary no hot water when shower required between 7.30pm -9.30pm on both nights, no internet on one night, no working plug sockets whole visit and had to make tea on floor and a few other problems. In fairness when I wrote to Manager I was offered an equivalent stay again even though had to pay over the odds for breakfast for two nights.
Second visit was placed in a different room for the 2nights and sjust as bad in a way as no hot water for bath at 9.30pm again on one night, light bulbs not working in several of sockets and a TV which had no signal in one room and in the other a thick layer of dust around windows and skirting borad and musty smell.
Complained again but manager nowhere to be seen and the same crap apologies.
Advice go there for the location and if you want a Fawlty Tower experience without Emanuel but value for money forget it.

Room tip: They all have their flaws just ring and ask which ones you want to get the room of your Fawlty Tower experience

Stayed here for one night, was allocated a room in the old part of the hotel although overlooked the road noise was not a problem. Room was clean and had everything we needed. Didn't have dinner in the restaurant as decided to go into the city, continental breakfast had a good choice with various options. Only thing be careful of shower very powerful and can get very very hot to be fair there is a warning sign about this in the bathroom.

Legacy Rose & Crown
Best, Best Location and Wonderful room!! Our room was #22. We were a little disappointed that we had to go up a flight of stairs to our room, but once we got into the room it was a pleasant surprise. It is definitely a large room. A table and two chairs, with a desk and queen size bed. And plenty of room to move around. The restaurant was wonderful too. It also is a historical place too. A must stay if you are staying in Salisbury. It is so conveniently located you can walk to the Salisbury Cathedral.

Room tip: You will have to climb up stairs unless you specify that you can't do it.

Booked a Deluxe double room here last minute for bank holiday weekend and so happy we did.
14th century coaching inn right on the river so it oozed charm. Huge clean room and fabulous bath. King size bed was so comfortable and hotel added extra bed for our 15 year old. Standard kettle and a Nespresso machine which always wins my heart. Both hot and cold breakfast buffet and fine bar and restaurant where we had excellent lunch and cream tea. Easy walking through charming Salisbury lanes and mews to the cathedral (must see) and
the town center with shopping and entertainment. We will definitely stay here again.
