I was a guest at a wake here on Tuesday, and my expectation were already set quite high, sadly I was very disappointed, firstly the bar service fell short, as new staff appeared to have not been fully trained, and made silly mistakes with my initial order, and secondly the catering for the buffet was nothing short of appalling! … 40 guests at £15,95 per head (£638.00) was an absolute joke, no thought or consideration was given to the food that was pre-ordered ordered weeks ahead, it literally looked like it was a case of, “we really don’t care, but we will throw something on plates for you” … and what you did attempt to rustle up, was a very poor effort to say the least, staff were also few and far between, to the point where guests were having to clear their own tables !! ….. Really ??? This is not the standard or the service I expected at all.

Held my mums wake here, as she enjoyed it here. After yesterday's performance, she will be turning In her coffin. It was appalling we had to go and ask where the food was as it had still not been brought out after us been there an hour. When it did come out, there wasn't even enough food for 10 people, never mind the 40 we asked them to cater for. Then when we intially booked we were asked to choose 3 options from the main section, but then to have food come out we hadn't ordered , to be told they just provide abit of everything now. Not on, lack of communication.
Then to have to start clearing the tables ourselves as they were piling up with empty glasses. Very disappointed especially since it was a wake and the price paid for it all.

We had 3 excellent adult meals and one very good child’s meal. The service from Lilly was superb too. it was the first time we had visited the Calverley Arms and we will definitely be coming back.

What an amazing beautiful place to come and visit. The food was exquisite along with the staff. Lucy and Catherine made us feel so welcome. Would highly recommend
