Owner description: A great place for birdwatching.

This really is a favourite place for us to visit. We are members but you do not have to be to enjoy this lovely reserve. It can be enjoyed at any time of the year & by all agegroups. There are very good facilities too.If you are a keen bird watcher then you will know the best times to come. For us,its a short ride, plentiful parking,a delightful entrance, shop then Cafe(with naughty cakes). You can sit inside the cafe beside the picture window & begin your "bird" experiance while you sip your Latte.Once you step outside you are on level smooth paths & will be greeted by the geese .Everything is well signed & there are lots of hides & lots of interest for the children plus good staff to oversee the childrens activities. At this time of year the wild flowers are growing along side the pathways.Colourful & always attracting bees & butterflies .We usually sit on a bench & eat a sandwich(but dont feed the geese!)This reserve has the electric boats & a staff member will take you round areas that are not accesable on foot. A really magical experience. We are of an age now when its good to sit & watch the world go by,its easy to do that here.

We've been to the Wetland Centre three times and have enjoyed it each time. There are beautiful grounds to walk, a large variety of birds to see, and lots to do for all ages including an electric boat ride through the wetlands, children's playgrounds, a cafe and a bird feeding area. A great relaxing day out. The only downside is that it is a bit on the expensive side, but it is for a good cause.

lots to see, and do

children followed an easter egg trail, and loved looking out for giant ducks everywhere.

Boat trip is worth waiting for, kept my two little monkey's entertained for the whole 3-45 minutes

play area for the children to use, though can be very busy and kids of all ages use it

feeding the birds is best done in the morning and not collecting nearly £5 worth of bird feed and walking off leaving none for everyone else when its 20p a handful !

Spent a good few hours here on a Saturday, was surprisingly quiet though perhaps not given the high admission fee.

The captive ducks were lovely, there was an assortment of different species from around the world.
A little confused about what this place is as it is advertised like a wetland conservation centre but appears to be more of a zoo of ducks.
You can see some wild birds in the areas, there are hides etc and the walk around was pleasant but it seemed more geared towards showing off the collection of non native birds. The non native ducks and geese are clipped (some also in enclosures) which seemed a little odd.

The cafe served cold food and hot drinks snacks etc, was priced on the higher end of average. Plenty of seating throughout the park.
Boat trip was included in admission and was quite relaxing though not loads to see in the reed beds as this was a more natural area.

Pleasant afternoon out if you're interested in seeing some non native species you've not seen before, as well as having the opportunity to sit in a hide to spot some native species. Enjoyed the walk and the animals - just feel a little conflicted about the clipped bird collection?

We received a lovely welcome, given full instructions as to the activities that were going on during the day and went through into the large seating area before going out to the see the birds on the lakes.

We fed the ducks, geese and swans and thoroughly enjoyed reading the information boards.

The boat trip was very relaxing with running commentary, which we found extremely interesting.

Walking was easy, with plenty of seating throughout. (Would advise people to wear flat shoes) Plenty of ducks, geese and swans all with their chicks.

It was really good to be able to go into the Hides and see birds. Identification books were available in each of them, which was a lovely touch.

The cafe served hot and cold meals, but we found them a tad overpriced.

The staff were all friendly, helpful and the facilities were excellent. A fantastic day out.
