We stayed overnight because we had an early flight out of Birmingham airport early the next morning. We booked a family room and I have to say - very small, more suited to a single traveler. The bed was awfully hard, the bathroom door was horribly squeaky; a minor irritation you might suggest but when you have 4 people sleeping in a room barely larger than a fair sized bathroom the noisy door was an issue! The room was clean and fresh but even the small details that make the difference were sorely lacking - tiny little TV, lots of outside room noise, £2.50 for a bottle of 7up. In summary, if you have to stay for work - proximity to NEC etc, then you’ll manage although if you favour a softer bed you probably won’t sleep very well!

Dear Chch00007
Thank you for taking the time to write a review I am sorry that you were disappointed with the size of the room. Our rooms are the standard size of an Express bedroom in the UK, when travelling with your family in future and staying in a Holiday Inn Express it may be worth asking for the sofa bed to be made up later so that it is not taking up as much room. I am surprised by your comments regarding the TV as they are 32 inch flat screens that are installed in all the bedrooms. If you have any concerns regarding noise please always contact the front desk team who will be happy to help.
Many Thanks
Fiona

*giving review for 2 stays*
First stay was okay. Ave hotel room and nice that it is next to a pub so you can relax in the evenings. Nothing special but slept well.

Second stay I had a room downstairs and it was right by the sitting area and all night I could hear people having drinks and chatting like they were at the food of my bed.
Unless your banning people sitting and chatting you just shouldn't have room so close. Was very tired the next day.

Coming down from Scotland to London we stopped here for the night. The food in the restaurant was great and the rooms were clean and very comfortable. After a long day on the road, it was a welcome relief.

We had 3 members of Staff Staying for 3 Nights, Thursday 22/03 - Sunday 25/03, as we were exhibiting at the NEC. On the Morning of Saturday 24/03, the staff discovered both our vehicles (Vans) had been stolen from the Hotel Car Park. When they went to Reception, and said both our Vans have gone, they were asked "Where have they gone". They were then told CCTV couldn't be checked until the Monday, as the member of staff wasn't in. There was no further help given to the 3 Staff Members, and they were left to make their way to the NEC. They also asked the lady on reception if this has happened before and she openly admitted that it has happened before, but didn’t think to warn anyone. I believe their customers have the right to know what’s been going on so that their customers can be more vigilant. At least people would have more of a chance of protecting their property.

Stayed for one night before going on holiday, package included a weeks parking. Family room was good, staff helpful and even though we had to leave for the airport at 3.45am there was still breakfast (cereal, toast, croissants, drinks available). We ate in the pub next door, which was pretty bad although we got a full refund. The taxi to the airport cost slightly more than advertised but this may have been as we had ski equipment and so needed a larger vehicle. Did exactly what it needed to do.
