Review of Mowgli Street food

Mowgli Street food
Ranked #450 of 2 441 Restaurants in Birmingham
Price range: US$8 - US$16
Description: The home of Tiffin Mowgli is all about how Indians eat at home and on their streets. She was born to feed the raw need Indians have for tiffins full of fresh bright intense flavour. Mowgli is not about the intimate, hushed dining experience. It is about the smash and grab zing of healthy, light, virtuosic herbs and spices.

The atmosphere and decor are great - (makes you forget that it’s in the train station)
The flavours of the street food were tasty but the rotis need a bit of work and were served cold. I think it’s a good idea to get lots of items and share them so no one goes hungry. Portions are a tad on the small size.
Overall my family and I were very pleased and we had a thoroughly enjoyable time!

If Indian street food is like this then everyone should visit India. We were going to the matinee at the Hippodrome and we're looking for somewhere for lunch. Friends had suggested Mowgli & we were amazed at how good it was. From the moment we walked through the door we were "WOWED" by the attentive attitude of the staff, the ambience of the surroundings, but more than anything else the quality of the food. We will be returning again & again.

Decided on here for lunch with a work colleague and was not disappointed.
The atmosphere is great and the food is delicious. Would highly recommend.
Can't wait to visit again!

An interesting place in terms of decor and seating. Menu is not too big which suits me fine. Went with friends at lunchtime and just had a main course. Drinks are expensive for the volume - Lassi £3.95, cola £2.50 for a small bottle. However the coffee was reasonable and good.
Curry's were tasty but small - Ok for lunch but would not be enough for an evening meal.
Staff were friendly but a bit too quick and we felt rushed at times.
Overall, nice enough but nothing special.

The place looks great, is in a busy location and the staff are nice but it's all down hill from there. The food is very poor, the curry dishes are very, very sweet. It's like they've been made from tomato ketchup then had sugar added. However, the true low point was the rotis- they are from a packet, the type that you can but from a budget food store for £1 per pack of 4 (I know this because I used to buy them as a student). There are so many better Indian restaraunts in Birmingham, don't be fooled by Mowgli's exterior.

It's shocking that they pass this off as 'traditional street food'.
