Bardolino Birmingham
Ranked #769 of 2 379 Restaurants in Birmingham
Price range: US$7 - US$18
Description: Bardolino Pizzeria Bellini and Espresso Bar is the latest venture by Marco Pierre White. The "ultra-casual" restaurant will open this summer at The Cube in Birmingham. As the name suggests, pizza will be the star dish, however, the restaurant will also focus on Italy's other classic plate - pasta. The restaurant takes its name from the town of Marco's mother's birthplace, Bardolino and will feature an all-day express menu of authentic Italian food, coffees and Bellinis. Speaking of the new venture, Marco said: "Bardolino represents affordable, friendly and casual dining with recognisable family favourites and classic Italian dishes. "I truly believe that Italian food is affordable and delicious. "Bardolino is a restaurant concept created for both discerning diners and aspirational families alike. After all, pasta is a child's favourite food." Diners can expect a variety of authentic stone-baked pizzas from the Zingara with ham, mushrooms and truffle oil to the Bresaola e Mozzarella with cured beef, tomatoes and mozzarella. The menu also boasts homemade pasta dishes that have all been created using some of Italy's finest ingredients.

We went for an Italian afternoon tea and I also ordered food separately for the children. The kids menu is very reasonable for good size portions and the Italian afternoon tea was lovely. The portion size was medium which suited me as I find some afternoon teas are too much.

Service started slowly (maybe because we used a Groupon) but it improved throughout.

I would visit again.

We had been bought a voucher as an engagement gift for two courses and a bottle of fizz and we had booked an over night stay in Birmingham too. We had reserved the table prior to our visit and had been asked to provide the voucher code which we did but when we arrived we had the impression that they weren’t expecting us. We were seated and given the ‘voucher’ menu which was a choice of two courses and a bottle of fizz. We were given a jug of water for the table and a waiter came over to take our order, we ordered our starters, a side dish and two drinks which came out and tasted fine with no problems. After we had finished our starters we were left for 45 minutes with empty plates and glasses, no one came over to ask if we were ok or offer us another drink. We could see other tables who had been seated after us having there food while we sat and waited. It was only when my partner asked if we would be getting our mains any time soon that our plates were cleared and the within seconds our mains miraculously appeared?! You could tell the plates had been on a hot plate and sat there for some time as the plates were boiling and the food was luke warm and very bland. While we were trying to enjoy our main course there were a couple sat on a table behind us complaining of everything you could imagine with the manager who stood there arguing the point for 25 minutes! As you can imagine this was not the relaxed setting we were hoping for! When we had finished our main course, the waiter came over and cleared our plates and asked if everything was ok and if there was anything they could improve on?! We told him we weren’t happy hoping he would let the manager know but he didn’t. The waiter left us unattended for another 30 minutes and then came back over asking if we wanted any drinks to which we replied we had done but we had been left that long we were not paying for our drinks or extras that we had already had. He replied ‘Ok’ and left us to it so we walked out! We had no contact with the manager even after we had complained and felt this was terrible service and bad management considering this is supposed to be a Marco Pierre restaurant it certainly doesn’t live up the it’s name! We won’t be visiting again and will pass on our experience to others who may visit in the future.

This was a gift for my 60th birthday. 2 courses and a glass of Prosecco.
I had booked a table for 7pm, We arrived an hour early as traffic was not as bad as usual. We were greeted immediately and as one member of staff went to check our reservation another stood and chatted to us. Were seated quickly and given our menu and a glass of Prosecco. Our waitress, Thulani was very cheerful and attentive. She took our order and brought the wine swiftly. Once the food was served she checked that everything was ok. Tom served our food and was extremely polite.
The food was delicious. We spent a delightful few hours.
The background music was extremely delightful.
My only concern was the sinks in the toilets. I am 5'3" and the sinks are very high. It was extremely awkward to wash my hands as the sink was at my bust level.
Toiletres were second to none.

I was taken here for my mothers day gift & i can say the food was truly amazing. Ive read some of the reviews and disagree with the poor service. We were treated very well by the young waitress who was clearly busy but that didnt stop her giving us excellent service. The only issue was that people from the spa can come up as part of their package and dine however they are in their dressing gowns so it can feel a little strange.Overall very pleased and would recommend
