A few minutes drive into Stratford upon Avon makes this an ideal place for a short break. We had 3 rooms (two were family rooms with double and a bunk bed) based around a courtyard, shared with the kitchen, which wasn't a problem. Only down-side was floorboard noise from upstairs rooms in the early hours of the morning. We had a good evening meal, and the breakfast was very good, made excellent by the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. Will certainly recommend to friends and use again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room without people above you

We had a room which was advertised as “executive “ don’t know how that came about but it was very clean so ok. The main problem was that the rooms were mostly taken by van drivers who were up at 6.30am then went to breakfast at 7am talking and laughing as they went and slamming their doors so no chance of a lay in. Soft closures on the doors would help a lot. The breakfast was ok and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: This is a pub with many annexes which isn’t obvious in the advert

Have heard mixed reviews on this pub. It's mainly a carvery type menu but you can order off a general menu. On the day I visited it was very busy, but the staff appeared to cope ok . I was with a group and they all said their good was good. I had a prawn cocktail which was excellent. Followed by scampi and chips. Good choice. Worth a visit but book,
