We were looking for a property where we could get away from busy working lives and that's exactly what we found. The lodge was in the middle of beautiful countryside yet within a short drive of all the local amenites. We walked along the canal into Stratford-upon-Avon, visited the pub and the Indian restaurant recommended by David and Jan and left at the end of the week feeling completely refreshed.
The swimming pool was an added bonus. We had busy days and finished them with a swim which was popular with our two children, not to mention lovely and warm.

From start to finish everything about our stay was great, lovely house, great location, so close to stratford upon avon, quality facilities and all the little things in between...wish we could have stayed longer.
The lodge is lovely, very cosy. The welcome pack on arrival was a nice touch (bread, milk, juice, cereal, cakes, toilet roll etc). Bin bags, hand wash, washing up liquid, tea towels etc are provided too which is useful! The cupboards had plenty of cups, glasses, plates, bowls, pots, pans and cutlery, but my only niggle would be there was no room to store food in the cupboards so it sat on the side if it wouldn't go in the fridge. Oh and no cheese grater but again that's minor. Next time I would buy grated cheese.
The beds are comfy, showers are great. The grounds are lovely, and the pool is definitely the highlight. Everyone loved it, especially the kids. There are inflatables and balls for the kids to play with. We played a lot of pool volleyball!
There is plenty to do around the Stratford area, we went to Cadbury world, Drayton Manor, bowling etc as well as walks, the kids loved walking up by the aqueduct.
All in all, a lovely stay and would happily return :-)
Me and my 4 friends stayed at Lower Ling Lodge from Thurs to Sunday at the end of October. The sat nav got us there fine and we were met by David at 5pm who showed us around. We were more than happy with the cottage.. slightly smaller than I expected it to be but was still fine for what we needed. It was clean and tidy and had everything we needed including a lovely welcome pack containing milk, bread, cereal tea and coffee etc. The pool isn't in the lodge it's in the main part of the house where the family live but it doesn't disturb them and vice versa. We had a lovely time and stayed in 1 night and went out the other 2. We had an issue with booking taxis because the numbers recommended in the welcome book all refused to come to us as they said that we were told far out in the middle of nowhere! Nothing that a quick Google search didn't solve but maybe that page needs updating.
David kindly agreed to a 1 hour later check out which was appreciated. overall we were left to our own devices and more than happy with everything . We got our breakage deposit back within a couple of days too.
Would definitely return here.
The accommodation was lovely, clean and tidy, the children loved the dogs, and we all enjoyed the swimming pool, owners were very friendly and helpful, lovely area to visit, especially stratford, lots of places around the area of historical relevance and lots of lovely restaurants to eat in, enjoyable stay, would come again. Thank you Davjd and Jan, it was lovely meeting you.
