Went to see Hairspray. Wonderful old theatre but comfy, easy to see stage, lovely bars and staff were great. Would thoroughly recommend a visit, and perhaps take a tour of it.

The entry to this theatre is special, you feel as if you are royalty as you find your very comfy seat.I Think refreshments, especially at family shows are a bit fairer than at Sunderland although tickets seem dearer .I tend to go to Sunderland for many shows but this is the only place for pantoMany people book a year in advance. We tend to go into Newcastle by bus as parking near to the theatre is not easy.Try to avoid match days as 52000 people will be en route to theCathedral on the Hill!

Just returned from seeing An Officer and a Gentleman at this theatre and had an amazing evening in one of the most beautiful theatres in the country if not the world.

Can't recommend this place highly enough. Ideal if you're visiting for a mini break and want to catch a theatre show. Seats are very comfortable and the decor is beautiful.

It's been many years since I visited this lovely theatre and I wasn't disappointed. Parked on Dean Street which is free after 5pm. Exceptional after paying way over the odds at NCP when previously visiting the City Hall. Lots of places to eat nearby. The staff are really helpful and courteous and a great asset to the theatre. Seats are comfortable with plenty of legroom too. And a great show!

I visit the Theatre Royal every year just after Christmas to see the pantomime.

The venue is huge and very clean with plenty of space for the customers. The staff are helpful and are always on hand to help with directions and many other queries.

There are a few bars which offer drinks and a few snacks, which is very expensive. The customers may also pre order their drinks for the interval and the bar staff will have them ready so there is no need for queues.
