We had high hopes for this new Dorking restaurant but they have a few things to do to make it work. Food is good, but not great, agency staff who are non- attentive, don’t take pride in their work, are forgetful, and take down the wrong orders aren’t helpful either. On the plus side, the decor and ambience are great, it is a nice setting. The salt pig pork burger was nothing special and a little greasy, but the triple cooked chips were great, as was the salmon risotto and the wine choices. Overall it was well priced, so if Salt Pig can get things right it asap can be a nice, cheaper alternative to Sorrell although it is never going to be on a par with the new star restaurant in Dorking. Good luck over the next few weeks, we will be back if and when the reviews improve.
