“Lilac cottage”

A lovely cottage in a v quiet location near Glastonbury. The owners were very considerate, allowing us peace and quiet but were always available if needed. They even left us the basics like tea and milk for when we arrived.

The cottage itself had all we needed as a base and ideal for a few days away. Clean and tidy and remarkably quiet considering the main road is only about 20 yards away. Yes as previous reviews have stated, the stairs are very steep so not the place for you if you are a little unsteady on your feet or getting on in years but that's the only thing I can think of that anyone could comment on as a downside but we found it was a great place to stay and would be for anyone. The pub next door was welcoming and the staff very friendly and Glastonbury is only a few miles away.

Can highly reccomend the cottage

Had a great time staying at the cottage and can only recommend it. Perfect location to do some sightseeing in the area. Owners were very helpful and our kids just loved to play with their dogs.

“Super little cottage, with everything you need!”

Thank you for a wonderful 5 days at Lilac Cottage! Your hospitality and kindness was much appreciated, from the pint of milk on arrival, to offering your lovely front lawn for us to sit out on and enjoy tea, if wanted!
The cottage is so comfortable, and has everything you need for a stress-free stay. We loved the friendliness of the area, and enjoyed exploring the ancient stones at Avebury, as well as the happy Town of Glastonbury and the scenic Tor. When we returned, tired, at the end of the day, we could relax in peace and comfort at the Cottage, where we had all we needed for a comfortable and happy stay.
Unlimited hot water for baths, and memory-foam mattresses on the beds! A good night's sleep was easy in the peace and quiet afforded by the cottage!
To save cooking, the pub next door provided a good meal..without the need to take the car!
My dog accompanies me everywhere, and it was great to find a local walk in the early morning, with a view of the Tor...and to find a 'dog-friendly' cottage in such a wonderful area - so convenient for Glastonbury, yet out of the 'hustle and bustle' of the Town.
Thank you, John and Julie, for having us! We found Lilac Cottage 'friendly' and 'comfortable' - and will certainly stay there again when re-visiting the area.

“Fantastic Cottage”
Reviewed 10 May 2016 for a stay in May 2016

This is a wonderful cottage with a well equipped kitchen and very comfortable beds, although the stairs are quite steep the bedroom upstairs is fabulous. The owners were very welcoming and helpful. There is a great pub next door with very friendly staff, good beer and food and it is also very dog friendly. On the whole this is a great place to stay, especially if you are looking for somewhere dog friendly, and is situated very well for all the main places to visit.
