Small-Group Day Trip to Stonehenge, Glastonbury...
Reviewed 28 June 2018

It was a lovely sunny day when we headed up the Tor. There were two ways up. one longer but less steep & one short but bit steeper. The route we took. It wasn't as hard a climb as we expected & there was a nice breeze at the top. There was a fab view & I believe you could see four counties from up there. It was lovely to sit & chill out & enjoy the view.

Thank anne s

This hill is a play of nature, much steeper than it appears from below. The 360 degree view is great on a fine day. There are two footpaths to the hill, one from town (a long way from the car park) and one from the back (only drop off and disabled parking). There is also a hidden third access path up from Ashwell Ln if you dare.

Tried asking a couple of locals (inbreads) where to park as the satnav was misdirecting us, they barely grunted a response - they were as cheerful as a dead rat!!!

My spaniel and I always enjoy our walks up the tor, we vary the approach and sometimes do it twice in one go!
Must be done if you are able on a visit to Glastonbury. A lovely walk from the town centre up bushy combe.

It's a bit of a climb up many hundred steps, past grazing sheep and rabbits, but worth it at the top. Usually a few hippies there, playing guitars and generally being friendly.
You can see the Bristol channel, Glastonbury, the Festival Site and 360 degrees all over.

Well worth the effort. Watch the sunset is its best trick though
