Reviewed 16 September 2015 for a stay in September 2015

We stayed here with another couple for the weekend of the Ludlow Food Festival.
All dealings with the owner went smoothly and on the late afternoon we arrived arrived we briefly double parked in the street; unloaded the cars and then found the parking permits and went to put the cars in the car park where they stayed all weekend.
The house was spotlessly clean with everything we might need in the kitchen.
The bedrooms were very nicely decorated - I particularly liked the patchwork sort of throw - made by the owner I'd guess.
Both bedrooms that we used enabled us all to have two very good night's sleep.
The house is perfectly situated for exploring Ludlow and we had a great day Saturday in the festival and two lovely meals in two of the town's restaurants.
My only criticism would be that having to leave by 10am was a bit early partic on a Sunday.
I can thoroughly recommend a stay in this lovely house.

Thanks Tricia for your review, we were really pleased that you enjoyed both the food festival and our house. Re the check out time on Sunday am if we have no other bookings on the day of departure and the house is not due to be cleaned that day we can allow guests to stay later. We hope to see you again.

This is the perfect cottage. All the rooms are tastefully decorated and well furnished. Every item in the house was of a high standard. The location could not be more perfect a very short stroll to everything. We loved it

Would definately recommend

Lovely house. Great spot in Ludlow with a pub at either end of the road. Quiet but only short walk from centre or start of country walks. Was on my own but 3 nice bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Highly recommended.

We could not gain access to the property and had to wait 30 minutes on the pavement - is this 5 star in England?? On entering, the smell of damp was quite pronounced as the dining room wall was wet for half it's height - luckily none of us are asthmatic! It is advertised as sleeping 6 - we were only 5 but all pensioners and there are only 4 easy chairs in the living room. There are orders, albeit laminated, everywhere you look! Finally we were in jeopardy of not having our deposit refunded because we had used the towels!!!! All else was adequate. I don't feel it is a 5 star property and better value could have been had elsewhere. Because of our views we did not add to the repetitive, banal comments in the visitors' book.

Liked best: the location was fine

Thank you for taking the trouble to write your review. As we said at the time, we are very sorry that your key was not available to you on arrival, but we felt we responded promptly to the dilemma and did call you later to check all was well.Thankfully, the laundry was able to clean the towels and we refunded the deposit to you in full.

“Didn't stay long enough......”

A return visit and it was as good as we remembered. Very clean house and very comfortable bed. It is central to all that is happening in the town of Ludlow and handy for many day trips around the district, Ironbrdige in particular, very pretty with the best Pork pies in England!
Don't miss the markets in the town square, on every day except Tuesday.
The Wheatsheaf has a very good Steak night on Wednesday and The Charlton Arms in the opposite direction always good for chat or sit upstairs and gaze up the river.
Excellent stay, thank you Chris and Nicola
