Booked this at the last min but glad I did. Hotel nice and clean on entry. Lovely woman at desk to greet me. Bit of a climb to get to room but ok. On entry to room it was clean and bed very comfortable. It smack bang in town centre, Tesco’s express 1 min walk away and train station about 5 min walk. Booking my next stay already

Lovely character hotel. Room was well furnished. Bed was soft and I was unsure but actually slept like a baby.

Room was overlooking the main road so we had to keep the window closed, was ok in March but the fan in the room would help as there is no AC

I stayed here last Monday night and found the hotel by chance online my accommodation was very nice on the first floor with excellent WiFi connections. The Reception staff were very helpful and Friendly when checking in.The Russian lady at the desk Anna went the extra mile to explain all about the hotel and where I could eat in the hotel she even gave me a drinks voucher which was most kind. The breakfast in the morning was very good. lots to choose from and the breakfast service was very good. The breakfast chef even made my french toast which was not on the menu which I enjoyed very much

Room Tip: I stayed in Room 316 on the second floor nice big room

After reading some reviews before my stay I was positively surprised when I arrived. I was part of a coach trip but check in was professional, the room was adequate, clean and met my needs. The bar staff were attentive and there was a good choice of wines, beers etc. Our evening meal was set for the group booking, but there was a good selection and the helpings were more than adequate. The room we had was quiet. The only downside was the shower door over the bath leaked a bit. The hot breakfast choice was limited but the help yourself buffet for meats, cheese, cereals, fruit, pastries etc was great.

Great location and nice old building but too many little issues. It is a beautiful old building but that means there is no elevator and it was quite tricky to get my large suitcase up and down the stairs. The room was ok - a bit B&B style but ok. The problems with the room 1) the bed was a small single and SO soft - uncomfortably so 2) despite the cold temperatures outside the room was SO hot - I had to sleep with the window open which made it a bit too noisy - 3) the doors don't lock from the inside (apparently a policy of the hotel?!) so I had cleaners enter - once without knocking while I was trying to sleep and 4) the TV did not work very well - most of the channels kept cutting out. In all it is just a bit expensive for what it is.

Room Tip: If you have heavy luggage make sure you are on a lower floor as no-one helps you with your luggage
