The Ashomolean's displays are so extensive that we actually made two separate visits. We truly could not drink in any more on our first outing so we returned a couple days later to take in what we missed. The museum, as in most of Britain encourages donations as opposed to charging an admission fee, but they do have a special exhibit area that is only available to ticketed customers, but there is so much to see otherwise we chose not to attend the reserved area. The museum is located just of St. Giles and is very near the Eagle and Child. If your in the city centre it's an easy walk.
