I visited this centre at least four times during our weeklong stay in Oxford. A young lady named Estelle assisted my nearly every time I stepped in. She was friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. She also did a great job in finding out what my interests and priorities were before suggesting tours. When I decided to cruise the Thames, she even suggested that the less expensive alternative was a better match for my schedule and interests than a more expensive option. Here's another budget conscious tip - the maps on prominent display in the little shop area are rather expensive. If you ask, they keep a completely adequate basic map behind the counter that only costs 50 pence. If you plan on visiting Oxford this help desk is a good starting point. It's conveniently located right in the middle of all the action.
