Well located in the Center of Henley on Thames with a decent pub bar area. Room was a good size but decor a bit tired.

Unfortunately, my stay was on a very hot day and the room had no air conditioning making it unpleasant. The noise from the main road was noticeable and also made it difficult to sleep.

Bed was very hard, I usually prefer a firm mattress, but this was like sleeping on a wooden board!

If you have to be in the Center of town and don’t need much sleep, might be worth considering, but I doubt I will stay again.

Having booked hotel a while ago on arrival they couldn’t find my booking. Quickly sorted lovely 2 ladies on reception ( thank you)
Room was ok coffee tea in rooms and lovely biscuits
Lots of dust everywhere needed a good clean. Shower was cold couldn’t get hot water in the morning for shower . Even the sink just ran cold water from the hot tap
On checking out in the morning staff seemed very uninterested hardly a good bye or thank you
Shame really as everyone else had been very helpful and hotel is in such a good area of town everything close ie shops restaurants bars

We had not been to Henley On Thame before and wanted somewhere not far from London. Did not disappoint its a lovely town on the river Thames. We did the 1 hour boat trip from the town down by the river. The Hotel is old and rambling but we liked it. Our room was down a few corridors and up a few stairs. There is a lift to the first floor. We had booked parking in advance so did not move the car for the 3 days. Staff very friendly in the hotel and pub attached. The hotel is at the back with an entrance from the car park. Only a small car park so book a place as I think parking in the town would be expensive. Our room as nice. TV. Tea and Coffee and kettle, biscuits. Bathroom ok and liquid soap over wash basin and bath. No shampoo or conditioner as such. The knob fell off the shower and in room 204 not very powerful. But it is an old hotel. Its on the main High St so handy for everything in the town. Hair dryer. Wardrobe. If you have walking problems ask for a room on the first floor as there is a lift. Maybe some rooms on the ground floor not sure. We had breakfast which was very reasonable and evening meal, also very reasonably priced. We like the Wetherspoon food. We were lucky as England were playing on the Monday night so watched in the bar. When we left we handed in our keys and were told we would get a £10 refund as the prices had changed whilst we were there. I have never been given money back at the end of a stay at any hotel ever before. Such a lovely surprise and very honest of the staff. Thanks for a great short, reasonably priced, break and we will definitely stay again and hope to try other Wetherspoon hotels around the country.

Room Tip: Rooms quiet but we were not at the front.

We, a group of 12 people walking the Thames Path, had booked 6 rooms, we appreciated the Catherine Wheel Hotel. I did not see the 6 rooms, but I can say that ours was spacious and its bathroom had been renovated.
There was a problem in one of the other rooms: the toilet flush did not work, and the 2 girls who shared this twin room had to use the loo of another room….
The price of breakfast, which is not included in the price of the room, is most reasonable.
