A National Trust property well worth a visit. There is a small army of extremely helpful and knowledgeable volunteers to answer questions and impart their knowledge. Having the organised talk before you visit the house is very worth while as it sets you up well to enjoy the house even more. There is also a lovely walk around the gardens and woods. All in all a very enjoyable day out.

Interesting property once belonging to William Morris. The house still contains the original furnishings and really shows how they lived in the 1930’s and gives an insight to the life of the Morris family. We enjoyed taking to the guides who were all friendly and informative. The gardens are small but very well maintained. The only thing that lets it down is the cafe. The tables were all dirty and needed clearing, it wasn’t busy but the staff seemed to be hiding in the kitchen area.

Enjoyable for a few hours.

A beautiful view of how one of the richest people of his time, William Morris founder of the Morris car factory, lived relatively very soberly. National Trust property.

One of the most enjoyable visits to a fairly modern property. The talk given was full of interesting information and inside the house has been left full of its owners things as they were when the trust took it over.
William Morris was a truly exceptional person and his life is well shown here
