The whole menu is vegan, which looked promised, but we were let down by the taste and quality of the food. Soggy fries, poor attempt at displaying it creatively, and especially an extremely long wait

Service was very slow, and incompetent at times. The little terrace usptairs was a cute little spot to have our food (in summer

Loves the idea of a vegan only menu at a pub hence happy to have given it a try. Would come back for a drink maybe but based on the food, leaves something to be desired. Had the chicken burger which was a little soggy and bland and the meatballs likewise. Wasn’t inedible but left us feeling a little disappointed. Ah well, heading in the right direction with the menu at least..

Have been wanting to visit this pub for a while to try their vegan pub grub and we weren't disappointed, we arrived as they opened the door at 12.00 and were the only ones there. The pub, as you can see from the photograph above, is like stepping back in time, it even had vinyl records playing on the bar. We checked out the menu and decided on fish, chips & mushy peas for me (this was the reason I wanted to come) and my husband had leek and mushroom pie, mash and red cabbage and gravy. I couldn't wait to try the fish and chips and I wasn't disappointed, it was tofu and seaweed battered, delicious, my husband enjoyed his meal also. We shared a sticky toffee pudding (too full for one each) which came with vegan ice cream, it was a real treat. The young man who served us was very helpful and chatted to us as we waited for our food. We will definitely be returning to try the rest of the menu.

A whole vegan menu and a very tasty and filling choice of food! We had the battered sausage and chips and kale burger - lovely friendly and approachable staff and hot, tasty food!

My girlfriend and I ordered the chilli and a hot dog on Easter Monday. We weren't warned when we ordered that there would be a long wait for food, although when we asked about our order after over an hour of waiting, the gentleman running the bar alluded to a staff shortage and did apologise.
When the food finally arrived, my chilli was really very good, but the hot dog was underwhelming. Having waited so long to be disappointed, my girlfriend decided to ask for her meal to be refunded. However, the manager came out from the bar and told us they didn't do refunds, that there was nothing wrong with the food, and that we were just trying to get a free meal (despite having left the meal). As we tried to explain our disappointment, the manager proceeded to walk away from us and shout back to us from behind a wall. We were really taken aback by such unnecessary abruptness and arrogance, and left still feeling hungry and wishing we'd walked straight back out when we'd seen the grubby floors and mould-strewn toilets.
Such a shame as we'd picked the pub out as somewhere we really wanted to eat prior to our trip to Nottingham.

Thank Sam H
