Owner description: The earliest built brick building in the county. Built by Sir William Pierrepont in 1500 and still lived in by his descendants, the house surrounds a Courtyard Garden of 1875 possibly influenced by Nesfield on three sides with the local Parish Church of St Edmund on the fourth. The East Garden which was laid out in 1973 has a winter flower garden full of snowdrops, aconites, daffodils and hellebores among other plants. The wild Tulipa Sylvestris which has been here since the 17th century flowers in the park. The house has family portraits and regional furniture and welcomes groups on guided tours throughout the year. The house is also available for weddings, meetings, seminars and other such events.

Went here for the snowdrops having visited the gardens some years ago.

The gardens have lots of snowdrops, hellebores etc but it is woodland walk which is the best. Here in the two acre woods are gentle paths where you can see the many varieties of snowdrop. The bluebells and wild tulips are just peeping through and a visit when they are out it on the calendar.

Water obstacle course was great although staff were a little too strict on the rules but rules are there for a reason I suppose. Car park layout and signage is crap but it's great when you get in there.

We had a visit this summer as part of the Clevedon Archaeological Societies annual Study tour. After a good lunch in the Long Gallery , Robert Brackenbury gave us a very interesting tour of the house, gardens and nearby church which has family tombs. It had a real feel of being a home as well as a historic building. Well done to the family for taking the place on and making it available for visits and events.

My husband and I had our wedding reception at Holme Pierrepont Hall last week and we honestly couldn't have asked for a better day - it was perfect from beginning to end. We had our ceremony at St Edmunds Church next door and the whole day ran like clockwork. Fiona Herbert did the catering, and the food, drinks and service were all impeccable - we had so many comments about how amazing the venue and catering were.
The gardens are stunning and the walled garden really does have the wow factor. Robert and family were so welcoming and really made us feel at home and were so accomodating. The Hall really is a hidden gem and I have a feeling its only going to get more and more popular, so if you are thinking of getting married here arrange to have a viewing sooner rather than later! You won't regret it!
