“very homely”
Reviewed 17 May 2014 for a stay in May 2014

Spoke to Anna by phone and email before arrival, but didn't actually get to meet her, as she had already prepared the huts for our arrival. I found her to be lovely and helpful in the contact I had with her beforehand.
We had use of both huts (My parents stayed in one, and my partner, myself and our baby stayed in the other). We found both to be really homely and well laid out. The beds were soooo comfy and snug.
On arrival we found a cake (mmmm) and sweets- a nice touch!
We found the huts by chance on the internet after we had seen Robson Green's Northumberland show talking about the dark sky status they have in the area. Unfortunately it was cloudy so we didn't see any stars (typical!), but we enjoyed the camp fire and a few drinks!
I have to say we were not keen on the toilet- we much prefer a normal flushing toilet, but the shower and everything else was great!
There are some small additions we would suggest to improve the huts- some hooks so you can hang clothes up, a door mat, a normal toilet, and maybe a rail on the side of the raised child bed over the double bed (our baby is 10 mths old and crawls and rolls all over, so we daren't let her sleep up there in case she fell- she slept in between us instead and there was plenty of room for this! She loved the comfy bed and pillows- she made us laugh when we heard her oooohing and ahhhing at how comfy the bed was before she went to sleep)

It sounds like I'm criticising here but I'm really not. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend the huts to any of our friends heading up to Northumberland.
Thanks Anna and William for a lovely stay xxx

“Absolute bliss!”
Reviewed 29 April 2014 for a stay in April 2014

What a fantastic weekend. Everything has been thought of...and more. This was a truly luxurious experience with all the feelings of being in the outdoors yet being in the most cosy, warm, beautiful accommodation. My husband was in his element lighting fires, inside and out, an the feather duvets and big pillows and cushions did it for me! So relaxing. The most delicious lemon cake on arrival and a breakfast basket that lasted us two days! Highly recommended. Can't wait to return

“Amazing”
Reviewed 27 March 2014 for a stay in March 2014

We stayed for two nights at the huts in March 2014 and will definitely be coming back. The huts were warm and welcoming, it was fairly chilly outside the week we stayed and the log burner was so warm we had the windows open! The attention to detail inside the huts was impressive with everything you could possibly need and a VERY comfortable bed.
The owners were very friendly and there are some lovely places to visit in the local area.
Looking forward to returning for another peaceful and relaxing holiday!

“Fairytale caravan”

Staying at Bracken felt like being a character in a fairytale for the weekend. Maybe Red Riding Hood and the woodcutter - there's a wood-burning stove with plenty of logs inside, a campfire outside and a cute basket with a homemade cake ready to take to grandmother's house (or to eat when you arrive). Or maybe Hansel and Gretel, with the pick and mix sweets, jar of marshmallows and toasting forks. There is even a witches-style broom to sweep the floor.

It feels very snug inside and the raised bed and little wooden windows give you the sensation of being inside a house boat or a ship's cabin. The bed is big, with plenty of room to stretch out and lots of soft feather pillows and a feather duvet.

The cabin has a lovely vintage feel, with lots of super-cute retro touches and fabulous reclaimed wood beams.

We had clear skies on our second night and used the telescope to see Jupiter and the full moon. (My fiancé had asked in advance for the scope to be left in the room, with no extra charge.) The tripod was a little bit short to see high in the sky, so you might want to bring your own if you have one.

Kielder is a short drive away and we went walking around the lake.

This was a perfect little weekend stay (for Valentine's and my birthday) and my only regret was that it was too short. I would definitely recommend staying here to anyone.

“Beautiful Relaxing Retreat”
Reviewed 10 February 2014 for a stay in February 2014

We stayed in Heather Hut on weekend of 7th February 2014.
Anna was very helpful in advance of our visit providing all the information we could need, and answering all of my questions.
The hut was very well decorated and had all of the appliances we could possibly need. We also loved the small touches, such as the wood for first nights log burner (though it lasted us 2 nights!), and the fab cake that was left for us too!
The location was ideal for travelling around the National Park, and very easy to find using the directions supplied.
Would recommend to anyone wanting a peaceful couple of nights away to book here!
