“An excellent place to stay in Northumberland”

We have stayed in many holiday cottages over the years and found the quality of the accommodation at Tawny Nook to be exceptional. The cottage was very well equipped and the owners had thought of everything and more. They were very hospitable from the welcome basket to setting the wood burning stove - nothing was too much for them. We highly recommend the cottage and will definitely be returning.
It is off the beaten track which was perfect for us and just what we were looking for. However you will need a car. Brilliant walks nearby. Longframlington is a lovely village and is a 40 minute walk. The beach is a 30 minute drive and Morpeth and Alnwick are about 20 minutes away.

“Fantastic cottage in a rural location”

Tawny Nook cottage is a fantastic place to stay. It is very well equipped, and the owners are very friendly and helpful.
This was our first visit to Northumberland, and with two teenage boys, we found lots to do.
We visited Alnwick gardens, Holy island(Lindisfarne), The Farne islands, Druridge bay, which has a beautiful beach. Ruthbury which is just a few miles away is a nice place to wander around. We also visited Dunstanburgh Castle, walking along the coastal path from craster.
