You can tell this place is run by folks who live and breathe it. Everything has been thought of from the comfiest beds and bedding to fresh and delicious breakfast in the room and a guest fridge to use if you want! It's immaculately clean and you get everything you need in your room. They even give you a list of cool places the locals hang out in York during your stay, along with the must see tourist spots. Love it!

Room Tip: We had a railway themed room, stunning!

My husband and I stayed two nights for our wedding anniversary. We stayed in room 4 (railway themed room). The pre stay communication was great. Just had to make one call to owner re parking permit but was resolved there and then and we got parked right outside the front door! Our room was spotlessly clean. Only downside was it was a little smaller than we expected. Brilliant breakfast delivered to your room...have to admit it was a little odd to have a young chap walk right in our room with breakfast whilst I was laid in bed! Wasn’t quite expecting that but learnt for day two and hid under the covers whilst my hubby took the tray haha. Very friendly owners who even left us a box of chocolates for our anniversary. Short walk to the centre with shops and restaurants close by. Also great that they have a customer fridge, not had this in a hotel before...very handy for our prosecco! Would definitely stay again!

We loved staying here. Close to everything if you don’t mind a short walk. The food was delicious and room well equipped. There are many shops down the road. The lemon drizzle cake at the Pig and Pastry was best we’ve had. Check out Rowntree Park just down the road it has a beautiful path in to the centre of town and is great for kids. Would definitely return.

Very nice and very clean bedroom (#5); decorated with charm. Fine view. Beds were comfortable and felt new. Very well located: on a quiet street and close to city center. Good breakfast brought into the room. Lots of food.
Few items to improve: Parking is available in the street with permit. Owner forgot to leave the permit in our room. As no one is at the site when you arrive, this could have been a problem if you do not have a phone to reach the owner (which we did not have). But we were lucky that other guests showed us where to get the permit. We were 3 in the room but had cups, glasses, etc for 2 only.

My husband and I stayed two nights at the Staymor and had a great experience. We were in Room 6 on the top floor. The room was charming, clean and the bed was very comfortable. The linens were lovely and the breakfast was very good. We really felt pampered having breakfast delivered to our room. The room was quiet and we slept very well both nights. Another important point is that they provide parking passes. We left our car parked the entire stay and walked to the city for sight-seeing and exploring. There are several nice restaurants/coffee shops very close by as well as a small market. Anything we needed was just around the corner and very convenient. It is obvious that the owners put a lot of thought into each room and their guests comfort. The website does not do this place justice. We weren't sure what to expect, but it was a nice surprise.

Room Tip: We had Room 6 and highly recommend it. It is on the top floor, so you will have to climb a few stairs
