Italian family run restaurant established in the 1980's. Conveniently located just outside the city wall close to the Minster. The interior is pleasant and also has an outside patio - weather conditions permitting.
The food menu offers a wide range of choices for all courses covering the classics and some more unusual dishes, plus daily specials. The wine list has a good range of mainly Italian wines. The house red is a very drinkable young Venetto merlot, which matches many dishes.
We visited as a group of ten, everyone was delighted with their choices, finding very good flavours and presentation. Prices are very competitive, and the service was excellent, particularly the owners charming family. This restaurant can get very busy, booking is recommended.

We love this restaurant, should have asked if you didn't like being near the toilets they would have moved you. You will not get Italian food better if you go to Italy the chefs Janni and Carlos are wonderful will do exactly the food you request. I have never had a better tomato garlic bread anywhere. Use this restaurant regularly.Try the fillet steak it is excellent.

We went in here as we got so hungry after a walk around the town. The couple managing the restaurant was upbeat and the food excellent. We had grilled vegetables and pasta and enjoyed it.

Food was ok, but what sticks out about the meal here was the place had very few customers but yet was able to spend most of our visit providing very very poor service. Ignoring us, stuck next to the toilets dispute about twenty free tables in the place. We were made to feel the entire meal like we weren’t actually wanted but our cash we spent was. Food was good but terrible place and made to feel very unwelcome, no follow up asking how the meal was or any extra wine, the usual that anyone would expect.

Thank you for your feedback, we endeavour to provide the best service we can as an independent restaurant service is paramount to us. Had you not liked your table all you had to do was asked to be moved.
I do find it quite hard though to believe that we are such a "terrible" place considering all your reviews on Trip Advisor of York eating establishments have been so negatively rated as well.

We ate here on two evenings during our stay an d found it to be excellent. Amazing food quality and great service sums this little gem up, and the house red was very good. Also not too expensive, very good value for money.
