I have to say that this cottage was much, much better than I originally anticipated. It had everything you could possibly need and more!!
When we got there we had to drive up a long private driveway where we arrived at the Farm, we had our own a private parking space, enough for 2 cars. The cottage itself was up a fight of stairs and was located above a garage. This gave us fantastic views over Whitby Abbey and the sea from the front of the cottage and fields to the back. There was a massive open plan kitchen, dining and living area with a DVD player and large TV. There was a 4 seater dining table and a 4 seater sofa, which was extremely comfy and looked brand new (it also converted into an extra bed).
In the kitchen there was a fridge (which had a small freezer compartment), washing machine, oven, hob and microwave. There were pots, pans, plates, colanders, tea & coffee, utensils - everything really!!
The next room was a large bedroom, which had a very comfy double bed, a wardrobe (with plenty of hangers) and a set of drawers for clothing.
The bathroom had a shower and a bath. The shower was one of the ones which attached to the taps, but it was easy enough to use.
The whole place was immaculately clean, very tidy and brand new. I honestly cannot say a bad word about it and for around £75 per night it was a bargain. We also took the dog, which did not cost us any more and there were plenty of walks and acres of fenced off open land for him to run around in. The owners were fantastic, they gave us a warm welcome which was very helpful and then they left us to ourselves to enjoy our stay.
Opposite the Farm is a Sainsbury's (which came in useful for breakfast stuff) and a petrol station. Within the grounds of the farm there was also a picnic area with a communal BBQ, plenty of benches, a children's play area (which you could see from the window and was very safe as the main road is a 5min walk down the drive), there were ducks, geese and chickens with fresh eggs every morning and a family games room with a pool table and indoor seating.
Whitby was 1.8 miles away. We walked into town, it was all downhill and only took 25 mins (as we were not in any rush). We got a taxi back as we had walked miles round Whitby too and were shattered, it cost around £6 (with the dog) from outside the bus station to the cottage.
I will defiantly go back and would not even consider using anywhere else now I have found this place. It is ideal for a Whitby stay and great value.

My husband & I stayed here with our 3 year old & one year old twins for 2 nights.
LOCATION - it is on a small farm next to the main house. It is located above the garage on the first floor up some outside stairs. It's not ideal for children due to being on the first floor, but we kept the outside door closed & it wasn't a problem. There are about 6 other cottages on the farm, but this looks like the newest addition. The farm is located just on the outskirts of whitby & only takes a few minutes to drive into the centre. You could also easily walk, but it is uphill on the way back. There are fields all around & one of them is used for tourers & tents.
FACILITIES - there is a little childrens park on the farm, as well as a games room located in an old outbuilding. It has a pool table, childrens toys & a TV with video player, with 100's of videos for kids to choose from. Sainsburys is also just at the end of the farms drive, a 5 minute walk.
KITCHEN - the crows nest has open plan living & kitchen area. The kitchen has a washer dryer, oven, microwave, toaster, fridge, breakfast bar, table & chairs & is very well equipped with utensils.
LIVING AREA - there is a corner sofa which is very comfy & also has a sofa bed built in, which was great. There is a flat screen tv & DVD player with free view tv. Lovely views from the window of Whitby Abbey & fields.
BATHROOM - lovely clean bathroom with bath & shower head. Although there was no holder for the shower, but this wasn't a problem. There is also a shaver charging socket built into the light over the sink.
BEDROOM - the bedroom was much bigger than it looked on pictures. It has a very comfy double bed, bedside lights, rocking chair, wardrobe & drawers. There was plenty of space for our 2 travel cots. All the roof windows have blackout blinds on them.
OVERALL - we loved this place & only wished we had been staying here the rest of our holiday. The family who run it are lovely, very helpful & knowledgeable, but not interfering. When we went to look at the rescue hens, ducks, seagulls & geese on the farm, a girl from the family came to tell us all about them, which my daughter loved. It's such a lovely peaceful place & very safe for children & pets. There's lots of lovely walks around to take dogs if you bring one. I would definately recommend this place & hope to stay here
again, but for longer next time.
This was a nice new build apartment with a lovely country views just outside Whitby town centre. It also accepted pets which was great as we have 2 small dogs. The owners left us 6 free range eggs which was a nice touch.
However some things could be improved upon with a small amount of effort from the owners and would improve their reviews.
The windows were dirty with stickers and plaster still on them from when they were fitted. The bed was a pine bed and not that comfortable (the bedroom was a good size and would have taken a larger bed). The duvets and bedding/towels could have done with being replaced with something newer and of better quality - it would have made a big difference. At £159 for 2 of us for 2 nights it was more than a good B & B on the seafront (£50 per double room), plus we had to pay for parking in town. However we did enjoy this mid-week break.
We had a short stay here with our dogs, apartment is very well equiped and finished to a good standard, lovely location, very peaceful and dog friendly. Definately recommend - we will be staying again! Loved it.
