“Very cosy stay”
Reviewed 29 October 2017 for a stay in October 2017

Every thought had gone into making sure you everything you needed for this stay. the hut got very warm quickly and the bed was comfortable. The area was great for walking and exploring, Whitby and RobinHoods Bay just short drives away or indeed walking distance if so inclined. Down sides we might be getting a little old for having toilets a walk away and after a lot of rain the ground was very squelchy

We are pleased to hear that you found Hide & sea comfortable and the Shepherd Hut provided everything you needed, during your stay.
Sounds like you made the most of exploring the beautiful North York Moors and coastline, on your short break.
If you feel you've outgrown 'Glamping, we do have our self catering cottages at Meadowbeck and hope to welcome you back in the future.

“Great little get away”
Reviewed 31 August 2017 for a stay in August 2017

A lovely little hut nicely located. My sister & I stayed in Hide & sea for 2 nights. The hut was beautifully done out with everything we needed. It was cosy & atmospheric especially with the woodburner going. The owls hooted at night & we saw a deer from the bed one morning. The owner was extremely helpful & friendly. The barn was well equipped and had a lovely powerful shower. A great place to stay.
We had a nice meal at the Flask just across the road..although it was pretty pricey for pub grub at £14 for fish & chips.

Thank you for your review. It's great to hear that you and your sister found the hut cosy and appreciated the décor. Particularly pleased that you experienced the wildlife in the meadow. We are so lucky to get to enjoy the animals and birds in the North York Moors - wild and free, has they should be. We passed on your comments to the new owners at The Flask Inn.

“Beautiful setting”
Reviewed 22 June 2017 for a stay in May 2017

We loved our stay in the quiet and cosy hut. We were well looked after. We would love to return again. Our only regret is not booking dinner at the local pub which is very popular.

“Great accomodations and peaceful stay!”
Reviewed 19 June 2017 for a stay in June 2017

My sister and I were looking for a peaceful get away and living in a shepherd hut was on her bucket list. We booked both the Hide and Sea and the Deers Leap. Beautifully appointed, wonderful view of Robin Hoods Bay. Beds were super comfy and the small wood stove provided just the warmth needed on a rainy afternoon. Each hut had running water and a nearby Eco Loo was doable. We loved the quiet, but if we had wanted some outside entertainment the Barn at the main house would have provided that. Neither hut is powered by electricity but we did not miss it. A solar powered USB port inside each hut provided charging power for our phones and iPad. Wonderful things to see and do all around the area and we were ideally located halfway between Whitby and Scarborough. Lots of trails to hike. Lisa and Graham were great hosts. We will come to stay again!

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay in our Shepherds Huts and sharing what you appreciated. We are delighted that you and your sister enjoyed the 'get away from it all' experience in our off-grid huts - particularly being on her bucket list.
We hope to see you both again.
