Popped in for lunch on a rather damp, miserable day, lovely inviting place with a great fire going too!
My husband and I opted for the suet pie while Mum had the 'small bite' fish and chips. Wow, when the food arrived it looked wonderful, smelt delicious and the fish and chips was huge!!
The steak and ale puddings were so delicious with an extra jug of proper homemade gravy, the suet pastry was lovely and light and completely stuffed with meat too, the vegies were very good as well and Mum reckoned her fish and chips was the best she'd had in years!
Sadly we didn't have room for pudding but I'm sure they were great too.
A great place, that was quite busy on this damp miserable day and mostly locals too.More
