Description: This historic public house has stood proudly for over 300 years situated in the popular area of The Golden Triangle in Norwich. In late 2015, Owner Rose Hanison did major renovation work and breathed much needed love and care back into the building. The aim is to provide great quality food and drink with a friendly and relaxed service while retaining a traditional pub atmosphere and style. The bar area is a laidback space that welcomes diners and drinkers alike, with various real ales available on our hand-pulls and bar snacks on offer throughout the day. We allow dogs in the bar area and can even provide biscuits for four-legged friends if they deserve a treat. The dining room offers a more restaurant-style environment and is great for all functions from meals for two, family gatherings and large parties. Highchairs are available for younger children and we offer a children's menu. We look forward to welcoming you soon!

Having read some really glowing reviews on TripAdvisor, we decided to visit this Father’s Day. The service was initially great, young girl served us drinks and took our order but the service for our food was taken over by a young lad who clearly did not want to be there, did not smile and barely managed to ask who was having which dish.
The food was pretty average, fish and chips were good, burger was ok but tasteless and chicken burger wasn’t quite right and didn’t taste overly fresh. Also had a dressed crab salad, this was rubbery, like it had been left in a fridge and dried up, whilst all the water in the meat sunk to the bottom of the shell and made a little puddle underneath - not great. Also asked for it GF and it came with bread!
Puddings were average, creme brûlée was good, ice cream good but the chocolate ganache pot was awful. Tasted like angel delight with some kind of weird pasty biscuit base which bizarrely had NO flavour at all!
Sadly, won’t be going back again.

A delicious Sunday Lunch.
3 of us went for impromptu Sunday Lunch we hadn't booked.
Though it was busy they managed to find us a table.
The food was delicious the pork and beef was lovely the veg cooked well.
And the Yorkshire puddings the best.

Fabulous venue. Lovely pub. Also great outdoor space with 'fairy lights', heaters and hanging baskets - perfect for an evening as well as daytime. Great staff, great food. Very amenable regarding delivery of the cake; band setting up ; photo booth delivery etc etc. Good communication. Highly recommended.
