We visited the Sandstone Nab while staying with family. Arriving at 15:15 on bank holiday Monday we noted that the carpark seemed half empty. We were surprised when advised that there would be a 45-minute wait for food, despite half the tables being empty.
We duly waited for for the first course to be served. After our empty plates were collected, we were then ignored for a further hour before we eventually gave up on any desire for a dessert, meaning we were unable to take advantage of the children’s meal deals. (Furthermore, on leaving we noted a sign saying children eat for £1 from 3-5pm on weekdays, but we were charged in full.)
I even had to go up to the bar to pay, having not seen our server anywhere nearby for more than half an hour.
On leaving we noted a sign that was not on the door at 3pm advising no food orders after 6pm and pub close at 8pm, and also noted two of the other servers leaving with us at 17:30.
This is not the first lot of slow service for this poor establishment we’ve experienced. The kitchens can obviously not cope with the restaurant at 50% capacity. The only person I’d recommend going back to this place would be Gordon Ramsey! They have failed us with poor service on three occasions now, they won’t get another attempt with my family!
