We love Kim's apartment - it is spacious, comfortable and has a fabulous kitchen and two modern bathrooms. It is located in a fantastic area, close to good restaurants, shops, Tower Bridge etc. Kim's son, Cameron, met us and showed us around the apartment. He was very helpful. We would not hesitate to recommend this apartment to any family staying in London.
Every review about Kim's WONDERFUL place has been SPOT ON! We were so pleased with this lovely, clean and very well stocked flat that we'd book it again in a heartbeat. It's true, the beds are VERY comfortable!!!
My wife and I brought my mother along on this EPIC vacation. She had never flown overseas nor had she been to a city as large as London, so we were a little uncertain if it would be too much for her. She did great though and she absolutely loved it! Kim and her son warmly greeted us when we arrived and explained everything superbly-- including the surrounding area and transportation options. We easily and comfortably settled right in, then went out to explore the river walk where we found several restaurants and had a delicious meal at Ask Italian. Just as Kim described, there are markets, eateries, retail shops, coffee shops, transportation, etc, conveniently nearby. The Tower Bridge and the Tower of London are, indeed, RIGHT THERE!
There are so many highlights to our trip it's impossible to list them all -- from seeing many of the iconic attractions, to eating at delicious restaurants and pubs, walking around the historic streets at night, and (bravely) driving to Sheffield -- well, we hit it hard every day, then we slept GREAT every night.
I must say that what set the tone off right away for each one of us, especially after a long and tiring flight, was Kim and her son's warm and welcoming hospitality, plus having a lovely and convenient place to stay. We knew we could contact her at any time if we had any questions, but all in all, it went very smoothly.
Thank you so much for everything, Kim. You're the BEST!! :)
Brilliant location and gorgeous apartment on the Thames. Spent 3 nights here and wish we could stay longer. Apartment is very well equipped and close to not only Tower Bridge but other sights
We stayed with teenage son and would come back any day. Thanks very much Kim and family
We stayed at this flat for 4 nights while visiting London. We are a family of 4 with sons (17 and 20 years) so having separate beds as well as the ability to save some money by eating in is important to us. First I would like to say Thank you Kim for accommodating our very early flight arrival from the USA! So very nice of you and your family to let us in early as we would have lost an entire day. We were total zombies but did manage to head out and see a few of the sights that day as well as get some snacks from the local grocery store.
The condo is absolutely beautiful and perfectly located in a safe area along the Thames in Bermondsey. We walked everywhere! The tube is a short walk away (for longer travel) but we chose frequently to walk along the river to several of the sites (Tower of London, HMS Belfast, Globe Theater to name a few). There are several restaurants along the river to chose from but they were just okay. We ate dinner at Ask (Italian) and Browns Brasserie (British). We did really love the breakfast/lunch take away (Shanel's) for a quick breakfast.
The condo itself is very comfortable, quiet and the beds were "heavenly". In fact I meant to sneak a peak at the brand of mattress but rushing out on departure did not allow. We did not cook anything however the kitchen is well stocked with pots and pans. Kim has lovely glassware and plates to enjoy your snacks and drink your wine. There is a clothes washer which we would have loved to take advantage of but couldn't figure out exactly how to use it and from what I could tell would have taken over an hour to do one load so we passed. The shower also takes a bit of getting used to regarding temperature setting but both bathrooms are beautiful. The flat is very clean (I am picky). The only other comments would be that the lock on the front door can be tricky as well. We also would have enjoyed having an extra chair for the table on the balcony to watch the tides of the canal change. If you are a James Bond fan the boat chase from "The World is not Enough" took place on this very canal!
Overall we would consider no other place to stay than at Kim's lovely flat and consider ourselves very lucky to have found such a remarkable place to start our vacation!
Perfect location. ..very comfortable. ...close to transport making it very easy to get around London.
Kim was very kind and helpful and the apartment was luxurious.
