This Japanese Garden is part of Holland park and is well worth a visit, we went when it was a Bank holiday weekend, and it was a little busy, but we could still enjoy the pleasure of the well maintained garden, there is a water cascade with a small paved crossing over it, which leads into a pond with Carp fish, there are some bench seats to sit and relax. This isn't a big garden, but its well worth a visit, there was a Peacock showing off his plumes, you can get to this location by Holland Park tube station, which we did and you can walk to a side entrance which will lead you to it, it is well sign posted in Holland Park which helps.

Considering it is in the centre of London, Holland Park and in particular the Kyoto Garden is an oasis of tranquility (apart from the helicopter overhead!).
The garden was smaller than I expected, but no less impressive.

Kyoto Garden’s tranquil retreat is a welcome escape from London’s bustling city streets. Tip: Take the time to hike through the woods to view the Japanese oasis and colorful ambiance.

It was a lovely little oasis but having visited multiple Japanese gardens now, I find the similarity of elements and layout makes them somewhat interchangeable, although this was my first with friendly squirrels! A particular gripe was that unlike some others I have visited, you could not sit on the grass which was fenced off. If you have seen multiple gardens of this type already, you may feel it is an average representation of its kind. However for its landscaping and location and for those who may be new visitors, I feel I must rate it very good. It is listed within the book 1001 Gardens you must see before you die.

If you are visiting Holland Park this small garden looks beautiful at the moment with the azaleas and the acers. It is the perfect place for peaceful contemplation.
