One of my favorite ways to learn about a city I’m visiting is to take a foodie walking tour. This “Secret Food Tour - London” was the perfect introduction to the famous Borough Market and London Bridge area. The food kept coming, and
we all practically had to be rolled out of the last pub!
Our guide, Mat, anticipated our every need - start off with a breakfast sandwich? absolutely... continue with award-winning fish and chips? keep it coming... thirsty? Try the honey mead! And more, all the way down to cider, tea and sticky toffee pudding you just couldn’t say no to. And no, I didn’t give away the top secret food!
I can’t guarantee that you’ll get the same exact menu, because the area we were in had so many choices. One relieved mother in the tour said THIS is where we’re eating tomorrow! The Borough market - where every hearts desire can be met, vegan to carnivore included.
Actually, Mat was very careful about asking and catering to any food restrictions, and sometimes we were jealous of what the vegans and underage kids were offered!
It was only my 2nd day in London, but I felt a lot more London-wise by the end of the tour, thanks to the historical background and fun stories told by our guide, Mat Bland.
